An image capturing device and a digital zoom display method are provided. The device includes two lens modules configured to respectively capture a first image and a second image, and their capturing view fields are substantially identical, a preview processing unit configured to generate a third image by down-sampling the first image according to a display unit's resolution, a feature extraction unit, an image zooming and distortion unit and an image fusing unit. The second image is trimmed for generating a fourth image according to the same size of the third image. A pixel offset feature corresponding with the third and fourth images is generated by the feature extraction unit. The image zooming and distortion unit generates a fifth image and a sixth image according to the pixel offset feature and zoom ratio to the image fusing unit to generate a combined image displayed on the display unit.

An image capturing device capable of simplifying characteristic value sets of captured images and a control method thereof. The image capturing device comprises a characteristic conversion module, a data storage module, a characteristic simplification module, a template storage module and a recognition module. The characteristic conversion module converts an image captured by the image capturing device into a characteristic image, and the characteristic image includes a group of first characteristic value sets. The data storage module stores a lookup table which comprises second characteristic value sets. The characteristic simplification module performs a simplification process according to the lookup table to produce a simplified group of characteristic value sets. Finally, compares the simplified group of characteristic value sets with the plurality of templates stored in the template storage module to recognize a specific object in the image.

A face recognition system and a face recognition method thereof. The face recognition system comprises a storage module, a processing module and a display module. The storage module stores a plurality of face recognition codes, a plurality of face images or face coordinates corresponding to the plurality of face recognition codes. The processing module calculates an overlap rate of the (T&#x2212;1)face image that overlaps the Tface image in the plurality of face images. When the overlap rate is greater than a first preset value, the processing module calculates a similarity between the (T&#x2212;1)face image and the Tface image. If the similarity is smaller than a second preset value, the processing module retains the face recognition code of the (T&#x2212;1)face image. The display module displays the face recognition code in the Tface image.

A device and a method for predicting photograph timing. First, a detection step is performed. Then, a face determination step is performed to determine whether or not a face is shown. A face-classifying step is then performed. If a detected image is a non-front face, a difference generation step is then performed. A difference determination step is performed when a plurality of differences are obtained to determine whether or not the sequentially adjoined differences are reduced, wherein if the sequentially adjoined differences are reduced, a photographing timing is predicted according to a reduction degree of the differences. As a result, the probability of successfully photographing the front face can be enhanced. In addition, a training database that has both front face information and non-front face information can be utilized. As a result, it is not easy to determine the non-front face as the front face incorrectly.

An object image correction apparatus and method for object identification are disclosed. The object image correction method is firstly used for correcting a face or an object under a right position. For example, in order to reduce time consumption for facial identification, the method corrects the deviations such as a rotation, direction, and scaling before an identification process. Preferably, an image is retrieved in a first step. One or more object positions are then detected. Next, some positions of the features are found, and the positions of plural feature points thereon are computed. The method then goes to determine the degree of deviations for the object based on the positions of feature points. Moreover, one or in combination of a rotation correction, a scaling correction, a direction correction, and a shift correction is introduced to process the correction on each deviation. The positions of the feature points are consequently obtained.

Feature data compression device, multi-directional face detection system and detection method thereof

A multidirectional face detection method is for detecting a face in a picture under detection at different positions. The face detection method includes the steps. A selecting window sets to sequentially select different sub-image patterns from the picture under detection. A facial feature weight calculates and it is calculated according to a feature value of the pixels in a sub-image pattern selected by the selecting window, thereby determining if the sub-image pattern has any features similar to the face. A facial edge weight calculates for made on the picture under detection according to a boundary value of the pixels in the sub-image pattern selected by the selecting window, so as to determine if the part of area of the picture under detection has any facial-boundaries. Profile detection is performed to respectively mark the facial-boundaries in the sub-image patterns with arc segments respectively for the sub-image patterns having the facial-boundaries.

The training measures performed repeatedly to generate sub-image categories at a sub-level of the sub-image categories. The training method includes the steps. An image under detection is loaded. A similarity of each of sub-image detectors compares according to the image under detection, and the sub-image detector having the highest similarity is selected. The face recognition measures performed repeatedly on the selected sub-image detector.

A method of adjusting selected window size of an image object is applicable for tracking a target object in a video. The video includes a plurality of frames, and the target object has a display range changing with the playback of each frame. According to a variation trend of the display range of the target object, whether a variation times corresponding to the variation trend reaches a threshold value or not is recorded, and then the selected window size is reset, such that the target object is enclosed with a selected window having a size closer to the target object.
