The present disclosure relates to a touch display device, and more specifically, relates to a touch display device having a bottom emission structure. According to the touch display device, by disposing a touch electrode and a touch planarization layer between a substrate and a thin film transistor, a touch sensing function can be implemented without affecting the disposing of components for display driving. Further, by disposing a shielding electrode to which a constant voltage or a signal equal to a touch driving signal is applied between the touch electrode and a light emitting element, a noise of a touch sensing signal caused by display driving can be reduced and the performance of touch sensing performed together with the display driving can be improved.

Discussed are a touch display panel, a touch display device, and a driving method thereof, wherein a constant voltage is applied to a cathode electrode during a period for sensing a finger touch or a pen touch, thereby performing touch sensing while performing display driving. In addition, a signal having the same phase and potential as the signal applied to the touch electrode is applied to the cathode electrode during a period for transmitting an uplink signal to the pen, thereby eliminating parasitic capacitance between the touch electrode and the cathode electrode, preventing transmission delay of the uplink signal, improving the recognition rate of the uplink signal, and enhancing the performance of pen-touch sensing.

The present exemplary embodiments relate to a touch display device and a driving method thereof. A touch sensing time period is divided into a period when the touch is sensed by a self capacitive sensing manner and a period when the touch is sensed by a mutual capacitive sensing manner and a ground signal modulated to be the same as the touch driving signal is output to the display panel during the time period when the touch is sensed by the self capacitive sensing manner. A converter receives an input voltage from a battery and outputs a first voltage through an output terminal, such that a ground voltage of the output terminal changes. A pulse width modulation (PWM) controller controls the converter to adjust the voltage level of the first voltage. The ground voltage is applied to the converter as a direct current (DC) voltage during a first time and as a pulse wave having a predetermined amplitude during a second time. The PWM controller controls the first voltage to have different voltage levels during the first time and the second time.
