A converter for an air conditioner includes a substrate, an inductor that is disposed in one side of the substrate and includes a core and a coil wound around the core, a switching element that is disposed in one side of the substrate and selectively controls a flow of a circuit, and a heat sink for absorbing heat generated from the switching element by contacting the switching element. A lead-in hole is formed in one side of the substrate, and at least a portion of the inductor is disposed in the lead-in hole, thereby quickly discharging the heat generated by the inverter and more efficiently using a space.

Converter

A power converting apparatus includes: a rectifying unit configured to rectify an input AC power, a buck converter that is configured to step down a voltage of the rectified power and that is configured to output DC power having the step down voltage, a first inverter that is connected to an output terminal of the buck converter and that is configured to convert the DC power into AC power to drive a first motor, a second inverter that is connected to the output terminal of the buck converter, that is disposed in parallel to the first inverter, and that is configured to convert the DC power into AC power to drive a second motor, and a converter controller configured to control an output voltage of the DC power of the buck converter.

Power converting apparatus and air conditioner including the same

The present disclosure relates to a motor driving apparatus and a home appliance including the same. The motor driving apparatus in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure, comprises a DC-stage capacitor, a three-phase upper arm and lower arm switching element, an inverter to convert DC power from the DC-stage capacitor to an AC power by a switching operation and output the converted AC power to a motor, and a controller to control the inverter, wherein the controller controls the switching elements in the inverter based on a space vector-based pulse width variable, and controls a turn-on time of the switching elements to be shifted, wherein continuous first and second switching periods of the switching elements is changed to one switching period by shifting the a turn-on time of the switching elements. Accordingly, when the inverter is switched, noise can be reduced while reducing switching loss.

Motor driving apparatus and home appliance including the same

Provided are a power converting system and a power converting apparatus, which include an input unit that receives a direct current (DC) voltage from an external power source, a conversion unit including a plurality of switching circuits that convert the input DC voltage into a multi-phase AC voltage, a resonant unit including a single resonant inductor connected to each of the plurality of switching circuits, and an output unit that rectifies each phase of the multi-phase AC voltage which has been converted in the plurality of switching circuits and outputs a single DC voltage.

Apparatus for converting DC power

A power converter and an air conditioner having the same, in which the power converter includes a rectifying unit configured to rectify an input AC current and an interleave converter that has a plurality of converters and that is configured to convert rectified output from the rectifying unit to DC power and output the converted DC power. The power converter also includes a capacitor connected to an output terminal of the interleave converter, and a converter controller configured to control the interleave converter. The converter controller controls the interleave converter by calculating a load level of both terminals of the capacitor and changing a number of operating converters in the plurality of converters of the interleave converter based on the determined load level of both terminals of the capacitor.

Air conditioner with variable power converter

A motor driving device includes a rectifier to rectify inputted alternating current (AC) power, a boost converter to boost and to output the power rectified by the rectifier, and an inverter including a plurality of switching devices to output converted AC power to a motor using a voltage from the boost converter. Accordingly, a voltage utilization ratio of a voltage input to an inverter in the motor driving device using a low-capacitance capacitor is enhanced.
