A display apparatus includes a first substrate including a display area and a non-display area surrounding the display area, a second substrate on the first substrate, a bank in which a first opening in the display area and a first dummy opening in the non-display area are defined, a first quantum dot layer filling the first opening, and a first dummy quantum dot layer filling the first dummy opening, where each of the first quantum dot layer and the first dummy quantum dot layer includes first quantum dots and first scatterers.

A backlight unit may include a light source, a light guide plate configured to guide light emitted from the light source, a light conversion layer on the light guide plate, and a reflective pattern layer between the light guide plate and the light conversion layer, the reflective pattern layer including a plurality of holes. The light conversion layer absorbs at least a portion of the light emitted from the light source at the first predetermined wavelength and generates light having a second predetermined wavelength different than the first predetermined wavelength. A reflective layer may reflect the light having the second predetermined wavelength toward a display panel.

A display apparatus includes a display panel configured to display an image, a light guide member below the display panel, a light source adjacent to at least one surface of the light guide member, and an optical member between the light guide member and the display panel. The optical member includes a wavelength conversion layer configured to convert a wavelength band of incident light. A low refractive index layer between the wavelength conversion layer and the light guide member and including a plurality of pores, and an inorganic layer between the low refractive index layer and the wavelength conversion layer. A volume ratio occupied by the pores within the low refractive index layer increases as being closer to the light guide member.
