A method for downloading a profile of an electronic apparatus is provided. The method includes receiving profile information from a profile information transfer server, transmitting a profile request to an identified profile providing server based on the profile information, and receiving a profile installable in a universal integrated circuit card (UICC) of the electronic apparatus from the profile providing server, and an electronic apparatus. Further, the present disclosure may provide a profile information providing server providing the profile information to the electronic apparatus and an operation thereof, and a profile providing server providing a profile to the electronic apparatus and an operation thereof. Further, the present disclosure may provide a method for swapping a profile between apparatuses, a method for acquiring profile information using code information, a method for modifying a profile providing server, and an apparatus performing the same.

Method and apparatus for managing a profile of a terminal in a wireless communication system

Provided are a communication method and system that integrate 5G communication systems with IoT technologies to support higher data rates after 4G systems. The present disclosure is based on 5G communication technologies and IoT related technologies, and may be applied to intelligent services (e.g. smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart or connected cars, health care, digital education, retail, and security and safety). There is provided a method of profile downloading for a terminal. The method may include: transmitting a first profile download request to a profile providing server; receiving unencrypted first profile information from the profile providing server; checking whether there is an input for consenting to profile downloading after receiving unencrypted profile information; and determining whether to download an encrypted profile on the basis of the check result. There is also provided a terminal capable of performing the above method. In addition, there are provided a profile providing server and an operation method therefor for delivering a profile to the above terminal.

Method and apparatus for providing profile

The present invention relates to a method to install a terminal profile in a wireless communication system, and the method may comprise the steps of: displaying a list including one or more mobile network providers; detecting a selection with respect to any one of the one or more mobile network providers; obtaining connection-related information with respect to the selected mobile network provider from a discovery server based on information related to the selected mobile network provider; and transmitting identification information of a universal integrated circuit card (UICC) and identification information of the discovery server to a server of the selected mobile network provider based on the connection-related information, in order to download a UICC-related profile from a profile administrator. Method and system for downloading and installing UICC terminal profile on a terminal from a profile manager

The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method for downloading profiles in a terminal in a wireless communication system include generating and storing an encryption key at a time point, loading the stored encryption key, when receiving profile download start information from a profile providing server, and downloading an encrypted profile for the electronic device from the profile providing server, via the loaded encryption key, and installing the encrypted profile in the electronic device. An electronic device configured to download a profile in a wireless communication system includes a memory, and a controller configured to generate an encryption key at a time point, store the encryption key in the memory, loading the stored encryption key, when receiving profile download start information from a profile providing server, and downloading an encrypted profile for the electronic device from the profile providing server, by using the loaded encryption key, and installing the downloaded profile.
