A display device includes a display panel that includes a first area and a second area that surrounds at least a portion of the first area. The display panel includes a base layer, a display element layer disposed on the base layer in the second area, an encapsulation layer disposed on the display element layer and that includes an opening portion that corresponds to the first area and an inclined portion that has a height that decreases with decreasing distance from the opening portion, and an inclination compensation layer that is disposed on the inclined portion and does not overlap the opening portion.

A display device includes a display part which displays an image, a pad part electrically connected to the display part, and a bending part disposed between the display part and the pad part to connect the display part and the pad part, where the bending part has a side end extending from the display part to the pad part. The bending part includes a base layer, a plurality of wires disposed on the base layer and electrically connected to the display part and the pad part, and a pattern part disposed between the side end and the plurality of wires when viewed from a plan view.

A liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate; a second substrate opposing the first substrate; and a plurality of pixels on the first substrate, a pixel of the plurality of pixels includes: a switching element connected to a gate line and a data line on the first substrate; a first pixel electrode connected to the switching element; and a second pixel electrode connected to the switching element and overlapping the first pixel electrode.

Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display (LCD) includes a first base substrate, a pixel electrode disposed on the first base substrate, a second base substrate facing the first base substrate, and an overcoat layer disposed on the second base substrate. The overcoat layer may include at least one of polysilsesquioxane, polysilazane, or derivatives thereof. The LCD further includes a common electrode disposed on the overcoat layer to form an electric field with the pixel electrode, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first base substrate and the second base substrate.

Liquid crystal display

A display device includes a first supporting member disposed in the first pad area of the first base substrate and spaced apart from the sealing member to define a predetermined space. A second supporting member is filled in the predetermined space by filling and curing liquid material. This protects the display panel from harsh ambience, such as light, heat and moistures, reducing the sealing and black matrix area. Such improvement can decrease the bezel size, effectively increasing viewable area of the display, which becomes more important in the mobile device.

Display device and method of manufacturing the same

A display substrate is disclosed. In one aspect, the display substrate includes a base substrate having a first refractive index and receiving external light and an insulating layer disposed below the base substrate and having a second refractive index different from the first refractive index. The display substrate also includes a pixel electrode disposed below the first insulating layer and a first compensation layer forming an interface with the insulating layer and having a third refractive index greater than the first refractive index and less than the second refractive index. The first compensation layer is disposed between the first insulating layer and the base substrate.

Display substrate and display panel having the same

Provided is an array substrate including a base substrate, a thin film transistor having a semiconductor layer disposed on a first part of the base substrate. The semiconductor layer includes a source electrode and a drain electrode, a gate electrode disposed on the semiconductor layer and insulated from the semiconductor layer. A light-blocking layer disposed between the base substrate and the thin film transistor. The light-blocking layer comprises a first layer continuously disposed on and around the first part of the base substrate, and a second layer formed on the first part of the base substrate without extending outside of the first part, the second layer being disposed on the first layer.
