A display apparatus includes a display panel including a pixel to display an image based on input image data, a driving controller which determines a driving frequency of a first display area of the display panel to be a first driving frequency and determines a driving frequency of a second display area of the display panel to be a second driving frequency less than the first driving frequency when the first display area displays a moving image and the second display area of the display panel displays a still image, and an emission driver which outputs a moving image emission signal corresponding to the first driving frequency and a still image emission signal corresponding to the second driving frequency to the display panel. A width of a non-emission period of the still image emission signal is greater than a width of a non-emission period of the moving image emission signal.

Display apparatus and method of driving display panel of the same

The present invention relates to a display apparatus and a method for manufacturing same and, particularly, to a display apparatus using a semiconductor light emitting device having a size of several μm to dozens of μm. The present invention provides a display apparatus comprising: a substrate; a wiring electrode disposed on the substrate; multiple semiconductor light emitting devices electrically connected to the wiring electrode; multiple conductive particles arranged between the wiring electrode and the semiconductor light emitting devices; and a bonding layer disposed on the semiconductor light emitting devices to allow the multiple conductive particles to be fixed to the semiconductor light emitting devices, wherein each of the multiple semiconductor light emitting devices includes multiple conductive electrodes, and the conductive particles are selectively fixed to only the surfaces of the conductive electrodes.

A display device includes a display panel including pixels connected to scan lines, a scan driving circuit including scan stages corresponding to the scan lines, respectively, where each of the scan stages receives a masking signal and a carry signal and outputs a scan signal, and a driving controller which divides the display panel into the first display area and the second display area, controls the scan driving circuit such that the first display area and the second display area operate with different frequencies, and outputs start signals provided at different timings. A first scan stage disposed in the first display area from among the scan stages receives a first start signal of the start signals as the carry signal, and a first scan stage disposed in the second display area from among the scan stages receives a second start signal of the start signals as the carry signal.

A driving controller includes a compensation unit that receives an image signal corresponding to a first display area and a second display area, calculates stress data based on the image signal and previous stress data, and outputs an image data signal, which is obtained by compensating for the image signal based on the stress data, a memory that stores the stress data of a previous frame from the compensation unit and provides the previous stress data, and a multi-frequency compensation unit that receives a data enable signal, counts a number of consecutive masking enable frames when the data enable signal indicates a multi-frequency mode, calculates accumulated second stress data based on the number of the consecutive masking enable frames and second stress data, which corresponds to the second display area, from among the stress data from the memory, and stores the accumulated second stress data in the memory.

Driving controller, display device and driving method thereof

An electronic device includes a display panel that operates in a normal mode, a multi-frequency mode, or a refresh mode, a driving controller, and a host generating and outputting a luminance information. In the multi-frequency mode, a display area defined in the display panel is divided into a first display area and a second display area, and the driving controller controls the first display area and the second display area so as to operate at different frequencies. In the normal mode, the driving controller controls the display area so as to operate at a normal frequency. In the refresh mode, the driving controller controls the display area so as to operate at the normal frequency during one frame. When the luminance information changes, the display panel operates in the refresh mode.

Electronic device with normal mode, multi-frequency mode and refresh mode

A display device includes a display panel, a data driving circuit, a scan driving circuit, and a driving controller. The driving controller receives an image signal and a control signal and controls the data and scan driving circuits to display an image on the display panel. The driving controller divides the display panel into first and second display regions based on the image signal, and outputs start and masking signals indicating starts of one frame and the second display region, respectively. First and second frames have first and second durations, respectively. The scan driving circuit sequentially drives scan lines in synchronization with the start signal and stop the driving of scan lines, corresponding to the second display region, of the scan lines, in response to the masking signal.

A foldable electronic device may include a flexible display, a sensor circuit, a processor and a memory. The foldable electronic device may be such that it: executes an application on the basis of a first mode, if a folding angle is within a first range; identifies a folding angle via the sensor circuit according to a first cycle while the application is executed in the first mode; if the identified folding angle is not within the first range, switches the execution mode of the application from the first mode to a second mode; and changes the range for switching the execution mode of the application from the first range to the second range based on at least one of the identified folding angles.

Method for executing application, and electronic device supporting same

A display device includes a display panel including pixels, and a panel driver which drive the display panel. Each frame period for the display panel includes N emission cycles, where N is an integer greater than 1. In a partial driving mode, the panel driver sets a black region of the display panel from a M/N point of the display panel along a direction perpendicular to an emission signal line, where M is an integer greater than 0 and less than N, and drives the display panel to display an image corresponding to input image data in a remaining region of the display panel other than the black region and to display a black image in the black region.

Disclosed is a display device including a display panel including a plurality of pixels and a voltage generator providing an anode initialization voltage to the pixels. The display panel is divided into a first display area operating at a first operating frequency and a second display area operating at a second operating frequency. A display device includes: a display panel including a plurality of pixels connected to a plurality of scan lines; a scan driving circuit, which drives the plurality of scan lines in synchronization with a clock signal; and a driving controller, which outputs the clock signal. While an operating mode is a multi-frequency mode, the driving controller comparts the display panel into a first display area and a second display area. A hold frame of the multi-frequency mode includes a first section during which the first display area is driven, and a second section during which the second display area is driven. The driving controller outputs the clock signal of a normal power mode during the first section and outputs the clock signal of a low-power mode during the second section.
