Disclosed is a battery module comprising a cell assembly including a plurality of secondary batteries stacked in at least one direction, and a bus bar assembly including a plurality of bus bars configured to electrically connect the plurality of secondary batteries and having at least one perforation hole into which the electrode leads are inserted, and a bus bar frame configured so that the plurality of bus bars are mounted to an outer side surface thereof, wherein the bus bar frame includes: a bus bar fixing portion having an insert space elongated in the right and left direction, the bus bar fixing portion fixing a top end and a bottom end of the bus bar, and a bus bar open portion opened so that the perforation hole of the bus bar is exposed inwards as the position of the bus bar in the right and left direction is changed.

A battery pack which may secure safety when fire or gas occurs therein or when an external impact is applied thereto is provided. The battery pack includes: a cell assembly including a plurality of secondary batteries; and a pack case including a bottom part having a plate shape and located under the cell assembly, and a side wall part protruding from the bottom part to a preset height, the pack case accommodating the cell assembly in an inner space defined by the bottom part and the side wall part, wherein the side wall part of the pack case includes a hollow in a direction at least partially perpendicular to a thickness direction of the side wall part, and the hollow includes an inwardly open inlet and an outwardly open outlet.

Disclosed is a battery cell assembly with improved cooling efficiency. The battery cell assembly includes a cooling fin having a tube through which a coolant flows; at least one frame member; at least one battery cell disposed to face the cooling fin; a first cooling port welded to an inlet formed at one end of the tube of the cooling fin; and a second cooling port welded to an outlet formed at the other end of the tube of the cooling fin. The first cooling port and the second cooling port are made of the same material as the tube.

Secondary battery frame and battery pack including the same

A secondary battery pack is provided. The secondary battery pack has a structure in which a protection circuit module (PCM) is mounted to a top of a plate-shaped battery cell having electrode terminals formed at an upper end thereof, the PCM includes a printed circuit board (PCB) having a protection circuit formed thereon, a safety element electrically connected between one of the electrode terminals of the battery cell and the protection circuit of the PCB, an external input and output terminal electrically connected to the protection circuit of the PCB, and an electrically insulative module case to cover the PCB and the safety element in a state in which the external input and output terminal extends outside. The PCM is loaded on an upper end case extension portion of the battery cell in a state in which the PCM is electrically connected to the electrode terminals of the battery cell.

Disclosed herein is a rotary jig for battery cells to successively manufacture battery cells having different sizes including a main body configured to have a hexahedral structure having a rotary rod mounted at a lower end thereof, the main body being provided at sides thereof with mounting frames having sizes corresponding to sizes of battery cells so that the battery cells can be uprightly mounted in the mounting frames in a state in which electrode terminals of the battery cells are exposed upward, a die disposed at a lower end of the main body, the die connected to the rotary rod so that the die can be rotated manually or by a rotary motor, and support members formed at the die to support the mounting frames of the main body and the battery cells mounted in the mounting frames, wherein the rotary rod is rotated so that resistance welding is performed with respect to a portion of one of battery cells to be welded using a welding rod located above the battery cell in a state in which the battery cells are mounted to the corresponding sides of the main body.

Disclosed herein is a secondary battery pack including a battery cell including first and second electrode terminals of specific structures, a protection circuit module (PCM) including connection members A and B connected to the first and second electrode terminals and an electrically insulated top cap, wherein a connection portion of the connection member B connected to the second electrode terminal of the battery cell is located at the bottom of the PCB so that the connection member B is electrically connected to the second electrode terminal via the safety element, the connection member A is coupled to the bottom of the PCB in a state in which the connection member A protrudes from one end of the PCB in the lateral direction so that a connection portion of the connection member A connected to the first electrode terminal of the battery cell is exposed through a corresponding one of the through holes formed at the top cap, a coupling hole is formed at the protruding portion of the connection member A, and wherein coupling members are coupled into the respective coupling grooves of the battery cell through the through holes of the top cap in a state in which the PCM and the top cap are disposed at the top of the battery cell, and the connection member A is mechanically coupled and electrically connected to the first electrode terminal by a corresponding one of the coupling members.
