Provided are a method and apparatus for measuring the skin condition of a face detected from an image and improving the face image. The apparatus for improving a face image in a digital image processor comprises a digital signal processor measuring the skin condition of a face detected from an image, correcting a rough portion of the skin of the detected face according to the measured skin condition and displaying the corrected image.

A digital photographing apparatus is provided that reduces the number of instances in which an image including a subject having closed eyes is obtained. A method of controlling the apparatus and a computer readable medium having recorded thereon a program for executing the method are also provided. The apparatus includes an image capture device that generates data from light incident thereon, and a blink determination unit that determines whether eyes are closed in an image from the generated data. The blink determination unit performs the determination as to whether eyes are closed only on an image from first still image data obtained in response to a signal received from a user. If the blink determination unit determines that eyes are closed in an image from still image data generated by the image capture device, still image data is obtained again from light incident on the image capture device.

Digital photographing apparatus, method of controlling the apparatus, and recording medium having recorded thereon program for executing the method

An image photographing apparatus includes a body, on which a tape cassette is removably mounted, and a camera unit installed in the body and provided with a plurality of camera sections. The camera sections have different pixel numbers and the camera sections are independently driven. The image photographing apparatus also includes a mode sensing unit to sense a photographic mode to correspond to at least one of the camera sections, and a control unit to select a photographic mode according to a signal transferred from the mode sensing unit and to drive a camera unit to correspond to the selected photographic mode. The image photographing apparatus includes a display unit provided in the body to show an image photographed by at least one of the camera sections.
