Disclosed is a biomolecule detector and a detection method using the same. The biomolecule detector includes a biomolecule chip having a substrate and a slit formed therein. Biomolecules are immobilized on at least a portion of the edges of the slit. A light source directs incident light toward the biomolecule chip, and a screen receives an image formed by a portion of the incident light passing through the slit. The biomolecule detector is small and portable, yet its capability for detecting a target biomolecule is quick, accurate and simple. The simple structural features of the biomolecule detector enable mass production.

An apparatus for detecting a biomolecule bonding using a radio frequency (RF) wireless energy transmission and a method thereof are disclosed. The method includes transmitting RF energy to a sensor module having one or more probe biomolecules immobilized thereon, and determining a first energy charging time of the sensor module, the first energy charging time representing the amount of time for the sensor to be completely charged by the transmitted RF energy, prior to mixing of the one or more probe biomolecules with one or more target sample biomolecules. A second energy charging time of the sensor module is determined, the second energy charging time representing the amount of time for the sensor to be completely charged by the transmitted RF energy, following mixing of the one or more probe biomolecules with one or more target biomolecule sample. A determination of whether biomolecule bonding has occurred is based on a variation of the first and second energy charging times.

A bio sample processing apparatus and method using vacuum chambers in which a bio sample is injected into a first vacuum chamber connected with one end of a bio processor and, after processing, is ejected into a second vacuum chamber connected with the other end of the bio processor. Disclosed is a biomolecule chip and a fabrication method thereof. The biomolecule chip of the invention includes: a substrate; an insulating layer formed on the substrate; an adhesive layer formed on the insulating layer; a seed layer formed on the adhesive layer; an opening patterned at a predetermined location within the adhesive layer, the seed layer and the electroplating layer; and a biomolecule immobilized layer formed on the electroplating layer, the electroplating layer comprising a plasma-treated electroplating layer prior to the formation of the biomolecule immobilized layer. Accordingly, the immobilization of biomolecules onto the surface can be done more effectively by modifying the surface of the substrate in favor of biomolecules.

An apparatus and method for detecting biomolecular bonding are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a substrate; a rotation unit mounted on the substrate, a probe biomolecule immobilized on a surface of the rotation unit; an input port and an output port connected with the substrate. A frequency detector is connected with the output port to measure rotational frequency of the rotation unit. The presence or absence of molecular bonding is detected by measuring difference between the rotational frequencies before and after mixing the probe biomolecule with a sample biomolecule.

Method and apparatus for selecting information in a multi-dimensional space are provided. The method includes the steps of sensing the motion of a user intending to select information, and determining whether the sensed motion is an effective motion intended for information selection and returning to the sensing step if it is determined that the motion is not the effective one. Accordingly, difficulty in setting a predetermined threshold to a single value can be overcome. In addition, even a very slight motion can be accurately detected without being influenced by gravity and offsets. Moreover, it can be accurately determined whether a user's two- or three-dimensional motion is an effective motion for selecting information and which motion unit among at least two motion units has generated the effective motion, so that a high correct recognition rate for information and high reliability can be achieved, and a user is allowed to easily select information.

A pressure sensor having a digital output includes a substrate formed with plural channels, and a gating part formed in such a way that an area confronting with the plural channels is spaced from the substrate and moved in response to an external pressure, thereby making the plural channels selectively conductive. Such a pressure sensor can obtain binary information of each channel from the fact that which is made to be conductive among the plural channels is determined by the movement of the area formed in the gating part to confront with the plural channels, and it is possible to measure a pressure within a set range from binary information of each of the plural channels. A tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) having a self-powered sensing module having a sensor unit with at least one sensor for measuring at least one of a temperature, a pressure, and an acceleration in the tire, and a power unit generating a power by being deformed mechanically according to a rotation of the tire and supplying the sensor with a power required for actuating the sensor. The self-powered sensing module and the TPMS using the same are powered by the power unit generating the power owing to the mechanical deformation, without using a separate power supply. Hence, there is no need to replace a battery of the sensing module and maintenance costs are reduced.
