A plasma display panel. A first substrate and a second substrate are provided opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween. Address electrodes are formed on the second substrate. Barrier ribs are mounted between the first substrate and the second substrate, the barrier ribs defining a plurality of discharge cells and a plurality of non-discharge regions. Phosphor layers are formed within each of the discharge cells. Discharge sustain electrodes are formed on the first substrate. A Plasma Display Panel (PDP) which enables low-voltage address discharge, enhances maintenance of an address voltage and prevents an abnormal discharge in the outside of a display available area, includes: a front substrate; a rear substrate disposed parallel to the front substrate; a plurality of barrier ribs interposed between the front substrate and the rear substrate to define discharge cells together with the front and rear substrates; a plurality of electrodes enclosing each of the discharge cells; a fluorescent layer arranged in each of the discharge cells; and a discharge gas in the discharge cells. Provided is a plasma display panel (PDP), which minimizes an elevation in reflection brightness caused by reflection of external light and improves in contrast and discharge efficiency. The PDP includes a front substrate transmitting visible rays; a rear substrate disposed substantially parallel to the front substrate; barrier ribs interposed between the front and rear substrates and defining a plurality of discharge cells along with the front and rear substrates, the barrier ribs formed of a dielectric material; two or more kinds of discharge electrodes disposed on at least one of the front substrate, the rear substrate, and the barrier ribs; a dielectric layer disposed on a rear surface of the front substrate; phosphor layers disposed in the discharge cells; and a discharge gas filled in the discharge cells. Herein, any two members of the front substrate, the dielectric layer, and the barrier ribs are colored, and when colors that are put in to the two members are mixed using subtractive mixture of colors, the mixed color lowers in both brightness and chroma.

Plasma display panel with angled dielectric film

A plasma display panel includes a first substrate and a second substrate with discharge cells partitioned therebetween. First electrodes and second electrodes surround the discharge cells and are respectively disposed proximate to opposite ones of the first and second substrates. The first electrodes are connected to each other and the second electrodes are connected to each other in a first direction. Address electrodes are between and spaced apart from the first and second electrodes along the direction perpendicular to the planes of the first substrate and the second substrate, and are connected in a second direction crossing the first direction. The address electrodes also surround the discharge cells.

Plasma display panel having pairs of address electrodes between scan and sustain electrodes

A plasma display panel is provided. The plasma display panel includes a front substrate; a rear substrate arranged to face the front substrate, a dielectric layer arranged between the front and the rear substrates and at least a portion of the dielectric layer having a first color, plurality of barrier ribs arranged between the front and the rear substrates and at least a portion of the plurality of barrier ribs having a second color, plurality of light absorbing layers arranged between the front substrate and the plurality of barrier ribs, wherein the first and the second colors are subtractive-mixed with each other. The dielectric layer and the plurality of barrier ribs are colored with two complementary colors that essentially filter out nearly all light. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce outdoor daylight reflection and improve image contrast.

Plasma display panel using color filters to improve contrast

A plasma display panel, including a front substrate, a rear substrate facing the front substrate, barrier ribs formed of a dielectric material to define discharge cells between the front substrate and the rear substrate, front discharge electrodes and rear discharge electrodes located in the barrier ribs for inducing discharge in the discharge cells, phosphor layers located in a plurality of first grooves formed on the front substrate, discharge gas in the discharge cells, and black matrix layers in the barrier ribs interposed between discharge cells. Accordingly, the luminous efficiency and brightness increases, phosphor layer deterioration is reduced, and flickering due to light interference is prevented.

A plasma display panel structure and a method of manufacturing the same. The plasma display panel has a front portion having a substrate having sustain electrodes. The plasma display panel has a front dielectric layer that attaches to the front portion. The front dielectric layer has colored dielectric layers made of a different material for each discharging spaces of red, green, and blue color and, colored dielectric layers being disposed corresponding to discharging spaces of red, green, and blue colors. Lattice dielectric layers are also formed to improve contrast. The colored and the lattice dielectric layers being fine pitch or high density patterned formed by a compression tool. The plasma display panel also has a rear substrate on which address electrodes are formed in a direction orthogonal to the sustain electrodes.
