A pouch secondary battery is disclosed. One aspect of the present invention provides a pouch secondary battery including a casing configured to accommodate an electrode assembly from which electrode tabs are led; and the casing includes a sealing portion formed on three sides of four sides of the pouch secondary battery and an adhesion portion formed on the remaining one side; and an extending portion protruding perpendicularly with respect to the adhesion portion is formed in a portion adjacent to the adhesion portion in the sealing portion.

Pouch secondary battery and method of fabricating the same

An exemplary embodiment in the present disclosure relates to an electrode assembly capable of suppressing the occurrence of a short of a battery including an insulation film, a secondary battery including the electrode assembly, a battery module, and a battery pack. The electrode assembly includes an electrode laminate in which a cathode and an anode are alternately stacked with a separator as a boundary, a porous insulation film surrounding four or more sides of the electrode laminate, in which two of both ends of the insulation film are adhered on a side surface of the electrode laminate.

A battery module includes a housing having an internal space, a cell stack disposed in the internal space and including a plurality of battery cells and one or more thermal barrier assemblies, and an adhesive member disposed between the cell stack and the housing, wherein at least a portion of the adhesive member fills a gap between at least one edge of the thermal barrier assembly and the housing, and the at least one edge of the thermal barrier assembly is coupled to the housing by the adhesive member.

A pouch case is provided which includes: a forming portion having a predetermined depth, and allowing each of a first end surface and a second end surface of the electrode assembly to be received therein; a notch portion extending from each of opposite ends of the forming portion so as to have a depth gradually decreasing from a depth defined by the thickness of the electrode assembly received in the forming portion; and a storing portion covering a remaining portion other than a portion of the electrode assembly received in the forming portion. According to embodiment of the present invention, the pouch-type secondary battery includes: an case configured to house an electrode assembly from which electrode tab are drawn out; sealing parts formed by adhering the case along outer peripheries of the electrode assembly; and folding parts formed by folding the sealing parts of surfaces on which the electrode tab drawn to an outside of the case is not formed, wherein a length of the folding part has a relationship with a thickness of the electrode assembly as the following equation: H≤T/2 (wherein, H is the height of the folded folding part, T is the thickness of the electrode assembly, based on a cross-section perpendicular to a direction in which the electrode tabs of the electrode assembly are drawn out).

Provided is a pouch case including first and second accommodation portions formed to accommodate the electrode assembly, a sealing portion formed along an outer part of the pouch case to surround the first and second accommodation portions, and a connecting portion formed with the same depth as that of the first and second accommodation portion and configured to connect the first and second accommodation portions at a predetermined interval, wherein a protrusion protrudes in a direction toward the sealing portion at opposite ends of the connecting portion. Accordingly, in the pouch case, and a secondary battery and a secondary battery pack using the same, a perfect cooling structure is acquired by uniformly forming one side surface of the secondary battery, and thus, an effect of holding one side surface of the secondary battery to be close to a cooling plate to maximize cooling efficiency is achieved.

The present disclosure relates to a battery module including: a battery cell stack in which a plurality of battery cells are stacked; and a pressure drop sheet on one side of the battery cell stack, in which the pressure drop sheet includes: a ventilation layer including ceramic fiber; and a sacrificial layer on at least one face of the ventilation layer, the sacrificial layer is disposed in a direction facing the battery cell stack, and the pressure drop sheet exhibits gas permeability at a critical temperature.
