A display device includes a display panel including a first active area and a second active area that is adjacent to the first active area and slides from the first active area in the first direction. An input unit is disposed adjacent to the display panel. A hinge has a folding axis in the first direction and is configured to couple the display panel with the input unit so that the display panel and the input unit is folded on the folding axis. A first motor gear is configured to provide power for a slide operation of the second active area of the display panel. The display panel includes a first slide for sliding the second active area of the display panel in the first direction. The first motor gear is disposed on one side of the hinge in the first direction to engage with the first slide.

Housing case and display device including the same

A display device includes a display panel including a first active area and a second active area slidable in a first direction, a plurality of segments spaced apart from one another in the first direction, extending in a second direction intersecting the first direction, and supporting a lower surface of the second active area, a panel housing having a guide rail engaged with a portion of each of the segments to guide a sliding motion of the display panel, and a first roller extending in the second direction, disposed in the panel housing, and surrounded by the lower surface of the second active area. The first roller includes a central portion having a first diameter, and a stepped portion protruding from the central portion in the second direction, forming a level difference with the central portion, and overlapping at least one of the segments to form a space.

Display device

A display device includes a display panel including a first area and a second area. A support module includes a first support layer disposed on a bottom of the display panel and overlapping the first area and the second area. A second support layer is disposed on a bottom of the first support layer, overlapping the second area, and not overlapping the first area. The first support layer includes first joints overlapping the second area, and a plate overlapping the first area. The second support layer includes second joints. Each of the second joints is disposed on a bottom surface of each of the first joints, and a width of each of the second joints is narrower than a width of each of the first joints.

Display device including a support module having joints

A display device includes a display panel sliding in a first direction. A panel storage compartment is configured to accommodate the display panel therein and to assist a sliding operation of the display panel in the first direction. A plurality of segments are attached to a lower surface of the display panel, each of the plurality of segments are extended in a second direction intersecting the first direction, and are spaced apart from one another in the first direction. Bearings are disposed inside the plurality of segments and are at least partially exposed by the plurality of segments. The panel storage compartment includes guide rails engaged with the bearings.

Panel support and display device including the same

A display device includes a display panel including a first active area, a second active area configured to slide in the first direction, a third active area configured to slide in the first direction, a first dummy area, and a second dummy area. A plurality of joints extend in a second direction intersecting the first direction, are spaced apart from each other in the first direction, are attached to a bottom surface of the display panel, and overlap the second active area, the third active area, the first dummy area, and the second dummy area. A first fixing tool and a second fixing tool are disposed on the first and second dummy area of the display panel, respectively, and are configured to assist a sliding behavior of the display panel.
