This invention provides a lead alloy foil comprising 0 to 4 wt % of tin, 0.5 to 7.0 wt % of antimony, and the balance being lead, wherein Sn/Sb ratio is 3 or less. It also provides a lead laminated tape for covering cables, comprising a lead alloy foil comprising 0 to 4 wt % of tin, 0.5 to 7.0 wt % of antimony, and the balance being lead, wherein Sn/Sb ratio is 3 or less, and an electrically conductive plastic film laminated at least one of the surfaces of the lead alloy foil and having a volume resistivity of 10.sup.6 .OMEGA.-cm or less.

Lead alloy foil for laminated tape

In a water impervious rubber or plastic insulated power cable of the invention having a water impervious layer of a laminated tape comprising a metal foil and an electrically conductive plastic film formed directly around a cable core or through another coating layer, a hold tape layer having an excellent expanding property to follow a heat cycle of the power cable is formed on the water impervious layer.

Water impervious rubber or plastic insulated power cable

A rubber or plastic insulated power cable having water impervious layers on the center conductor and cable insulation core. The layers completely prevent water infiltration into the insulation for a long time period and eliminate dielectric deterioration of the insulation by water trees.

A water impervious heat shrinkable rubber or plastic tube wherein a laminated metal foil layer consisting of a metal foil film having a thickness of 0.01 mm to 0.1 mm and, laminated on each surface thereof, an electrically insulating or semiconducting rubber or plastic sheet extends along the entire or partial length of the tube and over the entire periphery of the tube, the two longitudinal edges of the laminated metal foil layer overlapping in a predetermined width and the laminated metal foil layer being so arranged in the tube that the thickness of the inner tube layer inside the laminated metal foil layer is smaller than the thickness of the outer tube layer outside the laminated metal foil layer.

Water impervious heat shrinkable tube

A rubber or plastic insulated power cable is provided wherein a water impervious tape is formed on a cable core through an electrically conductive tape. Fracture due to fatigue of the metal foil of the water impervious tape which is caused by friction between a metal shield layer of the cable core and a jacket as an outermost layer is prevented. Water impervious performance of the cable is not degraded over a long period of time.
