An information record/reproduction apparatus includes logical volumes that can be used as a variable-length record/reproduction area and a physical volume that has been divided into a plurality of fixed-length areas and is not subjected to record or reproduction. Allocation to the logical volume is made by combining the divided fixed-length physical volumes by a management unit, and the size of the information storage area can be set depending upon, for example, a category of information to be recorded. If the amount of information of high priority exceeds a size of a predetermined logical volume corresponding to the information while no unused physical volume is available, then the management unit detaches part of a logical volume in which information of low priority has been recorded, allocates the detached part to the logical volume corresponding to the information, and thus records the exceeding amount of information.

Information record/reproduction apparatus and record/reproduction method

A detector for a Compton camera includes a first radiation scattering layer; a second radiation scattering layer; and a radiation absorption layer disposed between the first radiation scattering layer and the second radiation scattering layer. The first radiation scattering layer and the radiation absorption layer configure at least a part of a first detector, and the second radiation scattering layer and the radiation absorption layer configure at least a part of a second detector.

A radiation measuring apparatus () includes a scatterer detector (A), an absorber detector (B) and a processing unit (). Pixel electrodes () of the scatterer detector (A) and the absorber detector (B) are arranged such that a distance between centers of two neighbor pixel electrodes () is smaller than a mean free path of a recoil electron generated in the Compton scattering of an electromagnetic radiation. The processing unit () specifies and incidence direction of the electromagnetic radiation based on a recoiling direction to which the recoil electron recoils. In this way, an electron tracking-type Compton camera is realized which confines the incidence direction of the electromagnetic radiation by using the recoiling direction of the recoil electron in a Compton camera using a semiconductor detector.

Radiation measuring apparatus and radiation measuring method

A particle radiation monitoring apparatus according to one aspect of the present invention includes a detecting unit to detect radioactive ray information of braking radiation from electrons undergoing action of particle beams incident on an irradiation body in accordance with a positional relation with the irradiation body and a calculating unit to calculate information on behaviors of the particle beams in the irradiation body from the radioactive ray information of the braking radiation corresponding to the positional relation that is detected by the detecting unit.

Particle radiation monitoring apparatus, recording medium to retain particle radiation monitoring program, and particle radiation monitoring method

Plural camera heads are each placed in a position capable of detection of radiation emitted from a radiation source. Compton cones obtained from the detection data output from each of the plural camera heads are projected onto three-dimensional space and an image based on the radiation source is reconstructed. In addition, projected images from projecting Compton cones obtained from the detection data output from each camera head onto two-dimensional planes are also employed for determining a three-dimensional space excluding regions where the radiation source is not present. Reconstruction of images based on the radiation source is then performed within the determined three-dimensional space.

Rays incident upon a plurality of detection plates arranged along a normal direction are detected. A distance between the ray and the ray source is estimated based on the number of counted rays detected by each detection plate, and each interval distance of the detection plates. Moreover, the direction of the source of the ray is estimated based on each image obtained from each detection plate.

Distance measurement apparatus of gamma ray source using multilayered ray detector

An image sensor has a three-dimensional structure in which a sensor element array having a plurality of sensor elements consisting of CdTe, arranged in a two-dimensional matrix, is mounted to an IC substrate via a connection layer. The connection layer has a plurality of stud bumps and a plurality of thin film layers. The stud bumps are formed on an electrode of each IC and are provided in the connection layer in order to fetch a signal detected by each sensor element. The thin film layers are formed at the distal end of each stud bump, and are electrically connected with an electrode of each sensor element.

Image sensor and manufacturing method thereof

An image sensor has a CdTe plate, a plurality of hole-type electrodes, and a voltage-applying unit. The hole-type electrodes are arranged at predetermined intervals in the direction of thickness. The voltage-applying unit applies a voltage to the hole-type electrodes. One of the electrodes is not adjacent to any other electrode and is used as an anode. The remaining electrodes are used as cathodes. A sensor-element array is provided on the detecting surface of the image sensor. The array comprises a plurality of sensor elements arranged in the form of a matrix. Each sensor element comprises an anode, a plurality of cathodes, and CdTe lying between the anode and the cathodes.

Image sensor and method of manufacturing the same

A radiation source position detection system is provided, wherein three radiation detectors are arranged at different positions. Based on radiations incident to each of the radiation detectors, curved surfaces where a radiation source exists are calculated. By solving equations of each of the curved surfaces simultaneously, the position of the radiation source is detected.
