An acoustic control system for an electronic musical instrument, which can obtain optimal acoustic characteristics irrespective of whether or not a low range speaker is attached to a body thereof. A piano body has high range and mid range speakers. A low range speaker is removable from the body. A stand-excluding switch designates a first speaker-use mode for using the high range and mid range speakers alone, and a stand-including switch designates a both speaker-use mode for using both the high range and mid range speakers and the low range speaker. A ROM stores stand-excluding and stand-including factors for setting acoustic characteristics in the two modes, respectively. A CPU reads one of the factors, which corresponds to the mode designated by the stand-excluding or stand-including switch. A tone generator circuit generates a musical tone signal to be reproduced in one of the modes, based on the read factor.

A touch curve memorystores therein a touch curve formed by velocity values corresponding to touch data generated by a keyboard device. A correction coefficient generatorgenerates a correction coefficient composed of a ratio of one of the velocity values stored in the touch curve memory corresponding to one of the touch data generated by the keyboard device, in a maximum touch memory mode switched by a mode switch(SW), to a maximum value of the velocity values in the touch curve memory. A correctormultiplies the correction coefficient generated by the correction coefficient generator by the respective velocity values stored in the touch curve memory, and then generates a touch curve formed by new velocity values. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a touch control apparatus and a touch control method which can obtain a touch curve, from which a touch response suitable for a user can be obtained, easily and in a short time.

An electronic musical instrument has a tone generation instruction operation member for instructing to start tone generation, and a tone generation control unit for starting a tone generation process upon operation of the tone generation instruction operation member, continuing the tone generation process even after the tone generation instruction operation member is released, and executing a mute process when the identical tone generation instruction operation member is operated again.

The present invention provides an exterior structure for an electronic keyboard instrument which has excellence in an outward appearance and which can be produced easily without detracting acoustic characteristics. In the present invention, a recess groove extending in a direction in which keyboards are arranged is formed at an upper portion of a back panel of the electronic keyboard instrument , a locking edge formed at an upper edge of a speaker cover is fitted into the recess groove , and a lower edge of the speaker cover is fixed to a lower portion of the back panel by a screw . A lower portion of the back panel is provided with a positioning stopper 4 which abuts against a back surface of a keybed of the electronic keyboard instrument , and a fixing piece which abuts against a lower surface of the keybed . A thick plate having rigidness is provided around the periphery of the speaker-mounting hole . An outer surface of a back panel is provided with a display of character or the like, and the speaker cover is formed into a size capable of covering substantially the entire surface of the back panel . The size, shape or angle of the holes of the porous speaker cover differentiated at a front portion of a speaker and at a front portion of the display.

Exterior structure for electronic keyboard instrument

An explanation for a function selected for a help display is displayed in text on a display screen, and a light-emitting element disposed to correspond to a switch for performing the selected function is operated to blink or light, so that the trouble of finding an operation element when a desired function is performed can be reduced.

Even during each of the process modes, the tone color of the electronic musical instrument can be compulsorily set to a given one.
