An inverter transformer to which coils for a balance transformer are integrally assembled. The inverter transformer is employed in a drive circuit for evenly driving a plurality of discharge tubes, and includes a primary coil and a secondary coil. The present invention proposes the inverter transformer which performs reduction in the number of components and in the size thereof by providing a through-hole a portion of a magnetic core section made from magnetic material configuring the inverter transformer, and by providing coils for a balance transformer through the through-hole.

Inverter transformer and discharge tube drive circuit using the same

The present invention provides a transformer apparatus configured by integrating an inverter transformer and balance transformer to be a downsized form, and a drive circuit using the transformer apparatus. The transformer apparatus comprises an inverter transformer having a core potion on which a primary coil and a secondary coil are wound, and a balance transformer having a core portion on which a primary coil and a secondary coil are wound, wherein the inverter transformer and the balance transformer are integrally formed by sharing a part of the core portions.

Transformer apparatus, inverter transformer, and drive circuit

A small loop pathA composed of a part of each of a first coreand a second coreis disposed with two windingsA andA of a transformer portionA, and a small loop pathB composed of another part of each of the first coreand the second coreis disposed with two windingsB andB of a transformer portionB. A magnetic flux generated at the transformer portionA circulates along the small loop pathA, and a magnetic flux generated at the transformer portionB circulates along the small loop pathB with each flux circulating in a mutually reverse direction.

Balance transformer

This is a small-size transformer that is made easily. Two bobbins around which a secondary coil is wound insert into bobbin protrusions from the opening surface side of the first core whereby the two bobbins are positioned in a row. A coiling protrusion around which to wrap a primary coil is formed in the aforementioned first core. Part of the primary coil coils around the coil protrusion and the remainder is positioned and coiled in a groove of the aforementioned first core provided in the outer circumference of the two bobbins. A second core is positioned in a countering position to the opening surface of the aforementioned first core so as to cover the aforementioned three protrusions.

Leakage transformer

This is a small-sized transformer that is made easily. Two bobbins around which a secondary coil is wound insert into bobbin protrusions from the opening surface side of the first core whereby the two bobbins are positioned in a row. A coiling protrusion around which to wrap a primary coil is formed in the aforementioned first core. Part of the primary coil coils around the coil protrusion and the remainder is positioned and coiled in a groove of the aforementioned first core provided in the outer circumference of the two bobbins. A second core is positioned in a countering position to the opening surface of the aforementioned first core so as to cover the aforementioned three protrusions.

High-voltage transformer

In a first secondary-side bobbinA, a roll surface of a winding section SAis located outward in radial direction with respect to a roll surface of a winding section SAin the vicinity of a grooveA, while a roll surface of a winding section SAis located outward in radial direction with respect to the roll surface of the winding section SAin the vicinity of a grooveA. Furthermore, the two winding sections SA, SAcross each other so that the respective roll surfaces have substantially oval-coin-shaped cross sections and the respective major axis lines on the cross sections of the respective roll surfaces cross each other when viewed from the Y-axis direction.

A leakage transformer capable of preventing occurrence of a short-circuit of a secondary winding and is also capable of restraining a distance between terminals from becoming wide is provided. A leakage transformer () has a structure such that a secondary winding () is stacked and arranged in a height direction with respect to a primary winding (), and comprises a plurality of primary side terminals (to) to which one end and the other end of the primary winding () are respectively bound. Further, the leakage transformer () comprises a first terminal block () comprising a first wrapping terminal () to which one end of the secondary winding () is bound and a second terminal block () comprising second wrapping terminals () to which the other end of the secondary winding () is bound.

In the present invention, the safeguarding of the circuit and the step-up transformer can be devised without using the special high-cost components. Voltage supplied by the primary coil () of a step-up transformer () is switched by a transistor (TR) and the secondary coil () of the step-up transformer causes the generation of secondary voltage. In addition to applying said secondary voltage to a cold cathode tube (), the current flowing through the cold cathode tube () is detected, and the transistor (TR) switching function is controlled based on the detection results. To detect the voltage generated by the secondary coil of the aforementioned step-up transformer, a voltage detection coil wrapped around the aforementioned step-up transformer () is provided. Abnormalities in the voltage supplied to aforementioned cold cathode tube () are detected based on voltage detected by this voltage detection coil (). Switching by the aforementioned transistor (TR) is stopped when an abnormality is detected.

Inverter transformer and inverter circuit

A system for safeguarding the circuit and the step-up transformer can be devised without using the special high-cost components. Voltage supplied by the primary coil () of a step-up transformer () is switched by a transistor (TR) and the secondary coil () of the step-up transformer causes the generation of secondary voltage. To detect the voltage generated by the secondary coil of the step-up transformer, a voltage detection coil wrapped around the step-up transformer () is provided. Abnormalities in the voltage supplied to a cold cathode tube () are detected based on voltage detected by this voltage detection coil (). Switching by the transistor (TR) is stopped when an abnormality is detected.

A high-voltage transformer for lighting a plurality of discharge lamps has a primary coil for inputting an AC voltage and a secondary coil for outputting a predetermined AC voltage higher than the AC voltage inputted. The primary coil has a starter primary winding for initially lighting the discharge lamps, and a normal lighting primary winding for normally lighting the discharge lamps.

High-voltage transformer and discharge lamp driving apparatus

An inverter transformer is formed of first and second cores arranged to face each other to form a closed magnetic circuit. The first core has a central leg, an outer perimeter wall, and a partition between the central leg and the outer perimeter wall so that a first groove is formed between the central leg and the partition and a second groove is formed between the partition and the outer perimeter wall concentrically with and outside the first groove. A primary winding is disposed in the second groove, and a secondary winding is disposed in the first groove so that the primary and secondary windings are arranged in the same plane.
