Provided are a seat belt retractor and a seat belt device capable of suppressing an increase in frictional resistance when a pretensioner is steadily driven and increasing the resistance to be applied to a webbing when energy is absorbed. A seat belt retractor includes a guide member facing at least a part of an outer circumferential surface of a locking base and disposed along an opening portion. The guide member is configured not to come into contact with the locking base until a pretensioner is shifted to a steady driving state, is configured to come into contact with the locking base when the pretensioner is steadily driven, and is configured to allow contact between lock teeth and the locking base when subjected to a predetermined load after the pretensioner is shifted to the steady driving state.

Seat belt retractor and seat belt device

Provided are a pretensioner, a retractor, and a seat belt device in which strength and slidability of a rod-shaped power transmission member may both be achieved. A pretensioner includes a ring gear on which the spool is rotatably disposed, and power transmission units for transmitting power to the ring gear in an emergency. The power transmission units includes a rod-shaped power transmission member for transmitting power to the ring gear while being plastically deformed, a tip reinforcing member disposed on a tip side of the power transmission member, a pipe for containing the power transmission member, and a gas generator disposed at an end of the pipe. The tip reinforcing member has higher strength than the power transmission member.

A power transmission unit includes a power transmission member that is engageable with external teeth of the ring gear, a pipe that contains the power transmission member, a gas generator that is disposed at an end of the pipe, a piston that receives gas generated from the gas generator to press the power transmission member, a first stopper that is disposed on an upstream side of the power transmission member, a second stopper that is disposed between the power transmission member and the piston, and a pretensioner cover that defines a passage for the power transmission member.

Seat belt retractor and seat belt apparatus

[Object] Quietness is to be more effectively improved, without compromising stability in power transmission. [Solution] An annular internal gear memberis formed of a noise suppressing material having lower strength than a metal. A deformation restricting portionof an annular flange shape is formed along an outer circumferential edge of a carrier. Accordingly, when a planetary gear mechanism is operating the internal gear memberis partially deformed so as to protrude radially outward of the annular shape. At this point, the protruding deformed portion of the internal gear memberabuts against an inner circumferential surface of the deformation restricting portion. Therefore, deformation of the internal gear memberis effectively restricted.

Seat belt retractor and seat belt assembly including same

A seat belt retractor includes a cylindrical member, a torsionally deformable shaft arranged inside the cylindrical member and having one end side connected to the cylindrical member, a plate mounting member arranged in the cylindrical member and disposed on an outer periphery of the shaft, a locking mechanism for preventing a rotation of the plate mounting member, and a plate member having one end portion fixed to the plate mounting member and the other end portion engaging an inner periphery of the cylindrical member. The plate member is plastically deformable so that the plate member is wound onto the plate mounting member. The plate mounting member includes a first reducing radius portion having a radius gradually decreasing toward a downstream in a winding direction, and a second reducing radius portion located on the downstream side and having a radius reducing rate greater than that of the first reducing radius portion.

A seatbelt apparatus that is capable of improving seatbelt wearing operability may comprise a webbing, a tongue plate moveably attached to the webbing, which are provided with a grip portion to be gripped by an occupant and an engagement portion extending from the grip portion, and a buckle that receives and releases the engagement portion of the tongue plate for engagement and disengagement. A leather cover is applied to a front surface (corresponding to the palm of the occupant's hand for gripping) of the grip portion of the tongue plate.

Seatbelt apparatus

A buckle device that includes a buckle with which a tongue supported by a seat belt becomes engaged, and buckle-moving device which moves the buckle between a storage position at which the buckle is stored when the buckle is not used and a use position at which the buckle is retained in a used state in which the seat belt is fastened. The buckle may be hidden in the vehicle seat at the storage position. The buckle does not obstruct the occupant when the occupant sits on or gets off the vehicle seat, and the occupant can smoothly sit on or get off the vehicle seat.

Seat belt buckle

A buckle is formed of a base having two side walls, a cover for accommodating and supporting the base, and having a tongue insertion hole formed at one end side of the two side walls of the base, and guide portions provided on each of the two side walls to protrude inwardly therefrom for leading a tongue to be inserted through the tongue insertion hole. The guide portions lead a tip of the tongue smoothly without blocking even when the tongue is inserted from the tongue insertion hole at a maximum slant posture defined by the tongue insertion hole relative to the buckle. The tongue can be smoothly inserted into the buckle to improve the manipulation feeling in inserting the tongue.

In a buckle for a seat belt, lower ends of side walls of an operational button is positioned at a level lower than lower ends of guide portions of a base, and an upper surface of a portion of a lower cover defining a tongue-insertion opening is positioned at a level higher than an upper surface of a bottom of the base. Therefore, when a tongue is engaged with the buckle, an engaging portion of the tongue touches at least one of the side walls of the operational button made of resin, and the portion of the lower cover made of resin. Thus, the tongue is prevented from touching the guide portions and the bottom of the base made of metal, thereby preventing a noise due to the metal-to-metal contact when the tongue is inserted into the buckle and engaged with the buckle. Therefore, a jar on an occupant's nerve when wearing the seat belt can be avoided.

Buckle with noise prevention mechanism

A buckle is provided with a non-contact buckle switch improved in durability to be securely operated. The non-contact buckle switch is switched by detecting a movement of one of an ejector, latch member and lock member of the buckle. The buckle switch includes a magnet and a Hall element for generating an electromotive force by a magnetic field of the magnet. One of the magnet and the Hall element is attached to a fixed member, and the other of the magnet and the Hall element is attached to one of the ejector, latch member and lock member.

Buckle with non-contact switch

In a latched state of a buckle in which a tongue is engaged, an inertia lever member of a movement preventing device enters into a path of a lock pin. When the buckle is pulled by a buckle pretensioner in this state, the inertia lever member moves in the longitudinal direction, and pressed portions of the inertia lever member are held by a holding portion, so that the inertia lever member does not pivot and the levers are thus held in the path of the lock pin. At the end of pretensioning, the buckle is stopped. Since the moment produced by the inertia force acting on the center of gravity of mass body of the movement preventing device is larger than the moment produced by the inertia force of an operational button, the inertia lever member does not pivot, so that the inertia lever member can be held in the path of the lock pin. In the buckle, the inertia release can be effectively prevented with a simple structure.

Buckle with movement prevention device

A buckle is formed of a base, a latch member supported by side walls of the base so that the latch member can pivot between its non-engaged position and its engaged position, an operational member manipulated to cancel an engagement between the tongue and the latch member; and a lock member. The latch member is biased to the engaged position, and pivots to the engaged position when a tongue is inserted into a predetermined position to engage the tongue. The lock member holds the latch member to the engaged position when the tongue and the latch member are engaged, and is able to be moved by the operational member to a position capable of canceling the engagement between the tongue and the latch member. The lock member is arranged to move only in the longitudinal direction of the buckle. Thus, the movement of the lock member is simplified to improve controlling ability of the latch member.

Buckle

In a buckle of the present invention, inertia force F.sub.1 acts in a direction opposite to a direction toward a disengaging position of a main body 4d of a lock member when the buckle is pulled by a pretensioner. Clockwise torque T.sub.1 is developed on a lever 12b and counter-clockwise torque T.sub.2 is developed on a mass body 12c. Since the torque T.sub.2 of the mass body 12c is larger generally, the lever 12b and the mass body 12c rotate together in the counter-clockwise direction so that the lever is set in the restricting position. At the bottoming of the pulling action of the buckle, the inertia force F.sub.2 acts in a direction toward the disengaging position of the main body 4d. Therefore, the mass body 12c rotates in the clockwise direction and the lever 12b is held in the restricting position so that the movement of the lock member in the direction toward the disengaging position of the main body 4d is prevented. As a result of this, unexpected disengagement between the buckle and the tongue is prevented even with extreme acceleration, the operational feeling of an operational button is improved, interchangeability is provided to the operational button, and the assembly condition of components such as the operational button is improved.
