A vehicle () comprises a passenger compartment () in which a front seat (F), a rear seat (R), and a floor () between the front seat (F) and the rear seat (R) are provided. A first group (S) of batteries () is mounted under the front seat (F), a second group (S) of the batteries () is mounted under the floor (), and a third group (S) of the batteries () is mounted under a rear seat (R). By setting a height (h) of the second group (S) of the batteries () to be lower than respective heights (h, h) of the first and third groups (S, S) of the batteries (), a battery mounting capacity of the vehicle () can be increased without affecting the comfort of the passenger compartment ().

Vehicle battery mounting structure

A battery unit (F) comprising a plurality of batteries () and a connection control device () which controls electrical connection relating to the battery unit (F) are provided in a vehicle (). The battery unit (F) comprises two groups (SR, SL) of the batteries () disposed to have a space (G) there-between, and the connection control device () is disposed in the space (G). The layout of the connection control device () is thereby optimized and the length of a harness () can be shortened.

A battery pack including: a box main body housing a battery therein and having a box shape with an upper side opening; and a lid covering the upper side opening of the box main body. The box main body has a first seal flange formed along an outer peripheral portion of the box main body, and the lid has a second seal flange formed along an outer peripheral portion of the lid. The first and second seal flanges are in contact with each other and seal the battery pack. The first and second seal flanges are curved with a predetermined curvature.

Battery pack

A vehicle body structure is provided with a vehicle body member, a charger, a structural support member. The charger includes an upper end portion and a lower end portion. The lower end portion of the charger is supported on the vehicle body member. The structural support member extends in a widthwise direction of the vehicle body structure in a position rearward of the upper end portion of the charger and adjacent the upper end portion of the charger.

Vehicle body structure

A plurality of batteries () are disposed under a floor panel () of a vehicle (). A first battery unit (F) comprising a plurality of batteries () stacked in a vertical direction and a second battery unit (R) comprising a plurality of batteries () stacked in a vehicle transverse direction are provided. By arranging a layout of the first battery unit (F) and the second battery unit (R) considering the location of an electric equipment () to which the batteries () supply power as well as the location of passenger seats (F,R), the weight balance of the vehicle () in the front-aft direction can be optimized.

A rear vehicle structure has an electrical system unit, two side members, two extension parts, two cross members, a rear seat and a cover. The electrical system unit includes first and second electrical system units. Each extension part extends rearwardly from one of the rearward ends of one of the side members. The cross members are located above rear suspension members of the vehicle. The electrical system unit is fixedly attached to a top of at least one of the cross members. The rear seat is installed forward of the first electrical system unit. The second electrical system unit is located along a rearward surface of the rear seat. The cover is installed rearward of the second electrical system unit and has an upright panel that is oriented vertically to provide an enclosed space between a rearward surface of the second electrical system unit and the cover.

Rear vehicle structure

Rear vehicle structure for housing one or more electrical system unit(s) in the rear of a vehicle, in which side members are provided proximate to a rear suspension of the vehicle, at least one side member on either side of the vehicle. Extension parts extend rearwardly from respective rearward ends of the side members, a forward cross member is located substantially at a forward end of the side members and above the rear suspension members, and a rearward cross member is located substantially at a rearward end of the side members and above the rear suspension members. The electrical system unit is fixedly attached to the top of at least one of the forward cross member or the rearward cross member.

A fuel tank mount structure, to be placed in a lower area of a floor formed in a vehicle body, is provided including a rear suspension member () disposed rearward of the fuel tank and having a front edge portion formed with a front suspension cross member () formed in a configuration contoured along a rear profile of the fuel tank.

A fuel tank mount structure (), to be placed in a lower area of a floor formed in a vehicle body, is provided including a rear suspension member () disposed rearward of the fuel tank and having a front edge portion formed with a front suspension cross member () formed in a configuration contoured along a rear profile of the fuel tank ().

A front exhaust pipe is connected to a front engine block, and a rear exhaust pipe is connected to a rear engine block. The front exhaust pipe extends from the front engine block downward, and curves and extends rearward. The rear exhaust pipe includes an upstream portion extending downward from a rear portion of the engine and a downstream portion extending forward from a lower end of the upstream portion and curving rearward. Rear ends of the front and rear exhaust pipes are joined together and connected to a main exhaust pipe. The rear and front exhaust pipe have substantially the same length. Therefore, vibration due to a difference between natural frequencies of front and rear exhaust pipes is reduced, and sound vibration performance is enhanced. Further, a declination of output due to disorder of exhaust pulsation in the confluence portion of the front and rear exhaust pipes is avoided.
