A power supply system having a plurality of power systems is provided with a power output section in each of the power systems, an electrical load in each of the power systems, operating from power supplied by the power output section, main paths that connect the power output sections of adjacent ones of the power systems, an inter-system switch that establishes a conducting condition between the adjacent power systems by being turned on and establishes a disconnected condition between the adjacent power systems by being turned off, and an intra-system switch in each of the power systems, which is disposed on the main path between the power output section and the inter-system switch, and which establishes a conducting condition between the power output section and the electrical load by being turned on and establishes a disconnected condition between the power output section and the electrical load by being turned off.

Power supply system

A restart control device is applied to a vehicle which is provided with an internal combustion engine, an electric motor, a driving wheel, and a clutch. The restart control device has a restart-condition determining portion which determines whether a restart condition for restarting the internal combustion engine is established while the vehicle is coasting; a push-start portion which starts the internal combustion engine by a push-start; a start-up portion which starts the internal combustion engine by use of an electric motor; and a doubly start-up portion which tries to start the internal combustion engine by one of the push-start portion and the start-up portion when the restart-condition determining portion determines that the restart condition is established. The doubly start-up portion tries to start the internal combustion engine by another one of the push-up portion and the start-up portion when the internal combustion engine has not been started.

Restart control device for internal combustion engine

A rotary electric machine for a vehicle is provided. The rotary electric machine includes a power system circuit which has a power element and is grounded via a first ground terminal and a first connecting line and a control system circuit which controls the power system circuit and is grounded via a second ground terminal and a second connecting line.

Rotary electric machine for a vehicle

The vehicle generator includes a rotor wound with a field winding, a stator wound with a stator winding, rectifier modules respectively connected to corresponding output terminals of the stator winding, and a power generation control device to control a power generation voltage of the vehicle generator formed from outputs of the rectifier modules by controlling an excitation current flowing through the field winding. Each of the rectifier modules includes a pair of a first MOS transistor and a second MOS transistor series-connected between positive and negative terminals of a battery. The rectifier modules are connected with one another through a communication line. The rectifier modules exchange data regarding control of the first and second MOS transistors of the rectifier modules by a pulse train signal transmitted on the communication line.

Vehicle generator

The power generation amount control apparatus includes a battery state determination section, a generator performance determination section, a power-generation-amount increase determination section, an idle state determination section, and a power generation restriction control section. The power generation restriction control section is configured to perform power generation restriction control to restrict a power generation amount of a vehicle generator driven by a vehicle engine when the idle state determination section determines that the vehicle engine is in the idle state, the power-generation-amount increase determination section determines that the power-generation-amount increase demand is not present, and the battery state determination section determines that the battery charged by the vehicle generator is not deteriorated.

Power generation amount control apparatus

A rectifying unit rectifies an alternating current voltage induced across each of at least two-phase stator windings. A turn-on unit monitors an output voltage of the rectifying unit, and turns on a switching element as a low-side rectifying element for at least one of the at least two-phase stator windings when the output voltage exceeds a first threshold voltage due to load dump. After the output voltage, which exceeded the first threshold voltage once, falls below a second threshold voltage, a turnoff unit waits for turnoff of the switching element until a turnoff time suited for preventing occurrence of a surge across the at least one of the at least two-phase stator windings appears. The second threshold voltage is set to be lower than the first threshold voltage. The turnoff unit turns off, at the appearance of the turnoff time, the switching element.

Rotary electric machine improved to carry out load-dump protection

A memory readout system comprised of a vehicle control device and a readout device to be detachably connected to the vehicle control device. The readout device reads out dialogue information stored in a built-in nonvolatile memory in the vehicle control device when connected to the vehicle control device and a predetermined certification condition is satisfied. The vehicle control device is comprised of the built-in nonvolatile memory and a dialogue information readout unit. In particular, the nonvolatile memory has a un-rewritable area which allows a dialogue information writing, but inhibits a dialogue information deletion. The dialogue information readout unit reads out the dialogue information stored in the un-rewritable area when a password certification judges that the readout device is an authorized one, and then transfers the dialogue information to the readout device.

Memory readout system for vehicle control device

A semiconductor package includes a metal plate, a power element, a lead frame having a die pad, a resin sheet having insulation properties, a control circuit that controls the power element, and a mold resin. The power element is mounted on the die pad, and the die pad is mounted on the metal plate via the resin sheet. The resin sheet is expanded including at least a lower surface of the die pad while the lower surface of the resin sheet is smaller than an surface of the metal plate, and the control circuit is arranged in a region on the metal plate, which region is other than the region where the power element is arranged.

A vehicular system includes a battery, an engine, an electric generator that is driven by the engine to generate electric power and thereby charge the battery, a first control apparatus that controls the battery and electric generator, a drive shaft, a CVT that transmits rotation of the engine to the drive shaft, and a second control apparatus that controls the engine and CVT. Further, the first control apparatus is configured to: (1) detect charge/discharge current of the battery; (2) monitor the SOC of the battery; (3) inform, when there is a decrease in the SOC of the battery, the second control apparatus of the decrease in the SOC; (4) set a target charge current of the battery for recovering the decreased SOC; and (5) control the electric generator to increase the amount of the electric power, thereby supplying the battery with the target charge current.

Vehicular system capable of suitably controlling engine speed and gear ratio according to battery charge state

There is provided a battery condition detecting apparatus which comprises: means for detecting a discharging and charging current from the battery; means for detecting whether or not a negative acceleration of charging current changes in its sign from negative to zero during charging of the battery based on a result of detecting the discharge current; means for calculating an integrated charged capacity of the battery by integrating an instantaneous charging current during charging of the battery; means for controlling an alternator mounted in an automotive vehicle so as to control an output electric power generated by the alternator such that a discharging current from the battery is kept to be constant; and means for determining that the charge polarization is cancelled, if the integrated discharged capacity becomes to be equal to the integrated charged capacity.

Battery condition detecting apparatus that detect cancellation of a polarization of a battery

An apparatus for controlling power generation of a generator mounted on a vehicle, the generator charging a on-vehicle battery, comprising a detecting device that detects information indicating the internal status of the battery that includes temperature of the battery, a power supply circuit that supplies power to the detecting device, a calculator for calculating the internal status of the battery using the information detected by the detecting device, a circuit board on which the calculator, the power supply circuit, and the detecting circuit are mounted and a controller that controls the power generation of the generator based on the internal status of the battery. The temperature sensing element is arranged on a bus bar that is electrically connected to the negative terminal of the battery, and the bus bar and the temperature sensing element are coupled thermally to each other.

Apparatus for controlling power generated by on-vehicle generator on the basis of internal status of on-vehicle battery

An electric power supply control system has a battery, a vehicular alternator, large electric power systems, operation limitation target systems, and a battery condition management device. Each large electric power system generates a rush current when initiating its operation by electric power supplied. Each operation limitation target system is capable of limiting its operation for a demand during the operation of the large electric power systems. The large electric power systems and the operation limitation target systems change their operation conditions based on an allowable electric power (or an allowable electric current) supplied from the battery condition management device in order to maintain a terminal voltage of the battery which is not less than a limitation voltage.

Electric power supply control system for vehicle

A control apparatus controls power generation of an electric generator and communicates with an external control apparatus. The control apparatus includes: a control circuit that controls the power generation of the electric generator according to a command signal transmitted from the external control apparatus; means for reseting the control circuit; and means for informing the external control apparatus of a power generation condition of the electric generator by transmitting a condition signal, the condition signal indicating both the power generation condition of the electric generator and information on whether a reset of the control circuit is made by the reseting means. With such a configuration, when the control circuit is reset due to, for example, noises, the control apparatus can reliably inform the external control apparatus of the reset of the control circuit.

Control apparatus for automotive alternator and automotive power generation system

A battery condition detection apparatus is composed of a semiconductor element, and a lead frame and mold resin. The semiconductor element is composed of plural diodes connected in series as a temperature sensitive element for detecting a temperature of a battery and a communication circuit for outputting a temperature detection result to an outside device such as ECU mounted on a vehicle. The semiconductor element is mounted on the lead frame having high heat conductivity rather than that of the mold resin. The semiconductor element and the lead frame are completely sealed with the mold resin. The battery condition detection apparatus is mounted on a battery case which accommodates the battery of a vehicle so that the lead frame of high heat conductivity is directly contacted to the battery case. The heat conductivity of the lead frame is more than 100 times of that of the mold resin.
