A data recording apparatus includes a laser diode applying light to a recording medium to record data, a front monitor diode detecting the intensity of light emitted from the laser diode, a switch device for switching to the lowpass filter in the operating state during the time period over which a signal of 14T mark is recorded, a lowpass filter for receiving a signal which is outputted from a front monitor diode, and a sampling/holding unit sampling the output signal which is outputted from the lowpass filter. The intensity of light emitted from the laser diode on the output signal sampled by the sampling/holding unit.

Data recording apparatus including light intensity control device

A digital image recording and reproducing apparatus includes a serial-to-parallel converter connected between an image memory and a data memory, for converting serial image data from the image memory into parallel image data, and a parallel-to-serial converter connected between the image memory and the data memory, for converting parallel image data from the data memory into serial image data. The serial-to-parallel converter is operated when the image data are to be transferred from the image memory to the data memory, and the parallel-to-serial converter is operated when the image data are to be transferred from the data memory to the image memory. Since the data can be transferred from the data memory to the image memory with a minimum number of bits required to allow displayed images to be recognized, the time required to reproduce images is shortened, and hence the image retrieval time is also shortened.

Digital image recording and reproducing apparatus

A still image signal reproducing apparatus repeatedly reads still image data recorded in an image data recording medium such as an optical disk to successively generate still image signals represented by the data, and still images indicated by the still image signals are successively displayed at high speed on a television picture monitor so that the user can browse the displayed still images for retrieval of a desired still image. When the desired still image is recognized, the user instructs the apparatus to stop the retrieval process. Then, the apparatus automatically displays a previous still image which is a preset number of still images in advance of the presently displayed still image, so that the desired image can quickly be retrieved regardless of the response time of the user. Alternatively, when the desired still image is approached, the speed at which the still images are successively displayed is lowered, or when the desired still image is recognized and a reverse retrieval process is instructed, still images which have already been displayed are displayed in reverse order until the desired still image is reached.

Still image signal reproducing apparatus and method for operation

An apparatus for reproducing of data recorded on a disc type recording medium having alternatively a first region with previously recorded clock information and a second region with data information along the circumferential direction of the disc in the form of tracks. A clock signal re-generated on the basis of the clock information read from the recording medium is delayed by a preselected delay time during at least the reproducing period of the second region. Thus, the apparatus can operate stably regardless of the variations of the sensitivity of the disc and the recording condition such as intensity of the recording laser power or the like.

Apparatus for reproducing recorded data from a disc employing variable

A still picture recording/reproducing device using a recording disk. For still picture reproduction, a manual selection is made as to whether a field or a frame is to be reproduced. The selected quantity is read from the disk and stored in a memory from which it is repeatedly read out for still picture display.
