An information processing system includes a plurality of apparatuses and an information processing apparatus. The plurality of apparatuses includes a first apparatus and a second apparatus. The first apparatus includes a first communication unit and a switching unit. The first communication unit is configured to receive screen information about the second apparatus sent from the information processing apparatus. The screen information is displayed on a first application program in the first apparatus. The switching unit is configured to switch a screen of a second application program to the screen of the first application program to display the screen of the first application program in response to receipt of the screen information by the first communication unit, when the first apparatus displays the screen of the second application program. The information processing apparatus is configured to communicate with the plurality of apparatuses. The information processing apparatus includes a second communication unit that is configured to transmit the screen information to the first apparatus.

An image forming apparatus includes a display unit, a plurality of types of input units, an input unit recognizing unit that recognizes a type of input unit via which input is being performed, and a display control unit. If a function menu has been selected of the first screen via the input unit, the display control unit displays a second screen, on the display unit, for selecting an item in the function menu selected on the first screen. Herein, based on a type of input unit recognized by the input unit recognizing unit when the function menu was selected on the first screen, the display control unit displays the second screen that corresponds to the recognized input unit on the display unit.

This invention is directed to an image printing apparatus including an image printing unit which prints an image on the basis of image data, a storage unit which stores information concerning details of a message for operating the image printing apparatus, and a display unit which displays the message and, when a message for which the information concerning the details of the message is stored in the storage unit is displayed, also displays identification information which indicates that the details of the message can be displayed. The image printing apparatus further includes a control unit which causes the display unit to display a message, and an operating unit which allows the user to perform input operation through a help key for selecting a help function. When causing the display unit to display a message, the control unit recognizes whether or not information concerning the details of the message is stored in the storage unit. Upon recognizing that the information is stored, the control unit causes the display unit to display identification information together with the message.

An image-forming apparatus is provided which can conduct folding processing that is suitable for a process to form an image on a sheet. The image forming apparatus includes a first folding device and a second folding device both of which conduct folding processing while conveying a sheet, a controller to control both of the first folding device and the second folding device, and a selector to select a two-folding mode or a three-folding mode. The controller controls the first folding device so as to eject the sheet after folding the sheet double when the two-folding mode is selected by the selector, while the controller controls the first folding device so as to fold the sheet double, and then, further controls the second folding device so as to eject the sheet after further folding the sheet in three when the selector selects the three-folding mode.
