Provided is a chuck apparatus enabling ease of rotation of a rotating cylinder in the loosening direction when replacing a tool, suppressed wear of the ratchet teeth, and a longer life span. Through the rotation of a rotating cylinder (), the chuck apparatus expands or contracts a plurality of jaws () inserted into a hole () provided to a tip end of a body (), and sandwiches and holds a tool () using the jaws (). An annular rotating body () screwed together with the jaws () and rotating together with the rotating cylinder () is fitted to the body () inside the rotating cylinder (). Annular ratchet teeth () are provided to the body () or the rotating body (), a detachable locking spring body () for locking with the ratchet teeth () is provided, and a lock release mechanism is provided for forcibly releasing the locking between the ratchet teeth () and the locking spring body () when a rotational force in a tightening direction is brought to zero after the rotating cylinder () has been rotated in the tightening direction and a holding force on the tool () has reached a predetermined value.

Drill chuck

A chuck device in which a rotary sleeve provided to a main body is rotated, and by rotation of an annular rotary body which rotates together with the rotary sleeve, jaws screwed together with the rotary body are expanded, contracted, advanced, and retracted, and a tool is gripped by the jaws; the chuck device comprising a retaining engaging body for engaging with the rotary body and preventing the rotary sleeve from coming out of the rotary body; wherein the retaining engaging body is provided to be fixed to a proximal end side of the rotary sleeve; a rotation transmission part for directly or indirectly transmitting the rotation of the rotary sleeve to the rotary body is provided to the retaining engaging body; and the rotation of the rotary sleeve is transmitted to the rotary body via the retaining engaging body, and the rotary body rotates together with the rotary sleeve.

Chuck device

An extremely useful rotating tool is provided that can prevent rattling caused by a clearance between a machine tool and a machine tool retaining hole while bringing the axial center position of the machine tool and the axial center position of the machine tool retaining hole as close together as possible. The present invention is a rotating tool having a rotating main shaft (), and the rotating main shaft () is provided with a machine tool retaining hole () having a cross-sectional shape that substantially matches a base part () of a driver bit, drill bit, or other machine tool () having a polygonal cross-sectional shape that is inserted into the machine tool retaining hole (), wherein the rotating tool rotates the machine tool () inserted in the machine tool retaining hole () by rotating the rotating main shaft () and performs work. A pushing mechanism is provided for rotating the machine tool () in a prescribed direction and twisting and pushing the machine tool () against an internal surface of the machine tool retaining hole ().

Rotating tool

A chuck device that prevents wear of ratchet teeth is provided. The chuck device includes a rotary sleeve which is rotated so that jaws inserted into a hole provided in a tip end of a body are slidingly opened and closed to thereby clamp a tool. Ratchet teeth forming an annular shape are provided in the body, an annular rotary member threadedly engaged with the jaws and rotated together with the rotary sleeve is fitted around the body inside of the rotary sleeve, a retainer spring member detachably engaging with the ratchet teeth is disposed outside of the ratchet teeth and the retainer spring member is provided so as to rotate a circumference of the ratchet teeth in accordance with the rotation of the rotary member. The ratchet teeth are formed of a harder member than the body, and the harder member is a discrete member from the body.

A keyless chuck is provided, comprising a generally cylindrical body having a forward and rearward portion with respect to an axis, the forward portion including a radially outwardly projecting portion of the body. The body further includes a plurality of guides extending obliquely to the axis and converging toward the forward section, and a groove extending around the body. Each of a plurality of jaws is slidably disposed within a respective guide and includes a thread section along an outer surface thereof. A jaw-engaging mechanism is configured to operably engage the groove so as to be rotatable around the body, and includes a thread section configured to complementarily engage the thread sections of the jaws. A sleeve extends over the jaw-engaging mechanism. A retaining member is disposed substantially within the sleeve, and is operably engaged with and extends between the body and the sleeve, rearwardly of the radially outwardly projecting portion of the body. The retaining member thereby axially constrains the sleeve with respect to movement toward the forward portion of the body. An associated method is also provided.

Keyless chuck and associated method

To provide a chuck device for preventing the loosening of the fastening condition, a plurality of claws inserted into a hole provided at an end of a body are opened, closed and slid by the rotation of a rotary sleeve and a tool is clamped by means of the claws. A coating that is hard and has a low frictional coefficient as much as possible is applied to an inner surface of the hole.

A chuck device in which a plurality of claws provided at an end of a body are opened, closed and slid by the rotation of a rotary sleeve and a tool is clamped by means of the claws. An annular ratchet wheel is provided on the body. An annular nut member to be engaged with the claws and to be rotated together with the rotary sleeve is fitted in the body inside of the rotary sleeve. A retainer spring member detachably retained with a tooth of the ratchet wheel is arranged outside of the ratchet wheel, the retainer spring member is arranged to rotate around the ratchet wheel in accordance with the rotation of the nut member, the retainer spring member is mounted on the nut member by convex/concave engagement means. A retainer portion keeps a condition that the ratchet wheel and the retainer spring member are retained to each other and a condition that the engagement between the ratchet wheel and the retainer spring member is released, and the retainer portion is disposed between the body and the rotary sleeve and defined by the retainer spring member and an inner surface of the rotary member.

A chuck is provided having a body, oblique guides converging toward a forward portion of the body, and a groove around the body. A slidable jaw within each guide includes outer threads. A rotatable mechanism engaging the groove includes threads for engaging the jaw threads. A toothed member extends around the body. An inner sleeve extends over and rotates the mechanism, while moving the jaws toward the forward portion. An outer sleeve extends over the inner sleeve. A metal intermediate sleeve between the inner and outer sleeves engages two spring members engaged with the inner sleeve. A first torque application rotates the intermediate sleeve with respect to the inner sleeve and causes one of the spring members to ratchet with the toothed member. A greater second torque application to the intermediate sleeve causes the other spring member to prevent rotation between the intermediate and inner sleeves.
