A data transmission system includes a first apparatus that is connected to a first external apparatus using the first transmission scheme and a second apparatus that is connected to a second external apparatus using the first transmission scheme. The first apparatus is connected to the second apparatus using a second transmission scheme that is different from the first transmission scheme. When the operation mode of the first apparatus in the first transmission scheme and the operation mode of the second apparatus in the first transmission scheme are different, data in the first external apparatus or the second external apparatus is transmitted to the second external apparatus or the first external apparatus, respectively, via the first apparatus and the second apparatus.

An image display device has a light source; a power supply section that supplies power to a light source; a cooling fan that cools the light source; a input section; and a control section that controls the cooling fan and the power supply section. If a first lighting mode in which a power value supplied to the light source is a first setting value is designated through the input section, the control section causes the power supply section to supply power that corresponds to the first setting value to the light source and causes the cooling fan to operate.

A video apparatus includes a processor for processing a video signal included in an input signal, a detector for detecting a vertical synchronizing interval of a synchronizing signal included in the input signal, a data saver for saving data for each vertical resolution of the video signal, the data being set in the processor for processing the video signal of the vertical resolution, and a controller for reading data from the data saver depending on the vertical resolution of the video signal, setting the read data in the processor, deriving a horizontal resolution of the video signal based on the vertical synchronizing interval detected by the detector, and changing the data set in the processor based on the derived horizontal resolution.
