A rotary slide bearing part of a rotary slide slit bearing for supporting a rotary shaft thereon in a rotatable manner, has a first bearing surface portion adapted to be arranged adjacent to a second bearing surface portion of another rotary slide bearing part of the rotary slide slit bearing, a load from the shaft to be borne by the first bearing surface portion is larger than a load from the shaft to be borne by the second bearing surface portion, the first bearing surface portion includes a fluidal pressure generating surface facing close to the shaft to generate a fluidal pressure between the fluidal pressure generating surface and the shaft, a main groove arranged at an circumferential end of the first bearing surface portion adjacent to the second bearing surface portion, and a sub-groove extending from the main groove in a circumferential direction of the first bearing surface portion, and an axial width of the sub-groove is smaller than that of the main groove.

Rotary slide bearing and producing method therefor

A wet type sliding apparatus comprising a wet type radial bearing which starts in the presence of a lubricating liquid, wherein the radial bearing has a sliding surface consisting of a resin composition comprising 10 to 45% by weight of a carbon fiber and 0.1 to 8.5% by weight of a fluorocarbon polymer, the balance being substantially an aromatic polyetherketone resin or a polyarylene sulfide resin. The radial bearing in the above wet type sliding apparatus is excellent in wear resistance even under a high load.

Wet type sliding apparatus comprising radial bearing

A bearing alloy for high-temperature application essentially consisting of, by weight, 2 to 8% Cr, 2 to 10% Fe, 0.1 to 1.5% Si, 2 to 22% Co, 1.4 to 11% Mo, and the balance of Ni and unavoidable impurities, and having a structure in which hard particles of a Co--Mo--Cr--Si-system intermetallic compound are dispersed the matrix in the proportion of 5 to 35 weight percent to the matrix. The respective component of the intermetallic compound is also counted in the above alloy composition.

Bearing alloy for high-temperature application

A wet type sliding apparatus comprising a thrust bearing which operates in the presence of a lubricating liquid, wherein the thrust bearing has a sliding surface composed of a resin composition comprising a carbon fiber, a fluorocarbon polymer and a thermoplastic resin other than fluorocarbon polymer, the carbon fiber content being 10 to 45% by weight based on the weight of the composition and the fluorocarbon polymer content being 0.1 to 8.5% by weight based on the weight of the composition, the thrust bearing in said wet type sliding apparatus being excellent in wear resistance, mechanical strength and friction coefficient at the time of starting even under a high load.

Wet type sliding apparatus comprising thrust bearing

A multi-layered bearing having superior load-resistance comprises an aluminium base bearing alloy layer and a backing metal layer. The bearing alloy consists essentially of, by weight, 2-8% zinc, 0.1-8% silicon, 0.1-3% copper, 0.05-3% magnesium and the balance of aluminium. The bearing alloy is subjected to a solution treatment and an artificial aging treatment, and it has a hardness of Hv 70 or greater. The bearing alloy may contain at least one element selected from the following five elements of lead, manganese, vanadium, chromium and nickel, and may further contain strontium and/or titanium and boron. The hardness of the bearing alloy may be Hv 70 or higher by performing solution treatment on a bimetal at a temperature of 400.degree. C. or higher before the plastic working, and further by performing an artificial aging treatment thereon at a temperature of 250.degree. C. or lower.

Aluminum base alloy bearing having superior load-resistance and method

A sliding member excellent in cavitation resistance and friction properties which has a sliding surface composed of a resin composition comprising a tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer resin and a polytetrafluoroethylene having a molecular weight of 5,000,000 to 15,000,000 and optionally a solid lubricant, wherein the proportion of the tetrafluoro-ethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer resin is 1 to 50% by volume based on the volume of the resin composition and the proportion of the solid lubricant is 0.5 to 10% by volume based on the volume of the resin composition. The addition of the solid lubricant results in an enhancement of friction properties and the use of an exfoliated graphite as the solid lubricant brings about a further enhancement of friction properties.

Sliding member

A composite copper alloy bearing is provided with a backing metal layer, an intermediate layer of Cu--Pb alloy, and a surface layer of Al--Sn alloy. A thickness of the surface layer is not less than either larger value selected between 0.06 mm and a value 0.2 times the sum of thicknesses of the intermediate layer and the surface layer but not more than a value 0.5 times the sum of the thicknesses of the intermediate layer and the surface layer. With this construction, the surface layer exhibits excellent sliding properties while the intermediate layer maintains high conformability, and therefore there can be provided the composite copper alloy bearing which has high fatigue strength particularly even in a case where a shaft susceptible to misalignment is used.

Composite copper alloy bearing

A wet friction member which can maintain boundary lubrication by decreasing the thickness of oil film on a friction surface even when the sliding velocity increases. In a case where the friction surface of the friction member is in pressure contact with a mated member while rotating in a state of boundary lubrications a shearing resistance owing to viscosity of cooling oil is circumferentially applied to cooling oil in outer grooves in the friction surface. Since outer grooves extend from starting position of intermediate portions of the friction surface and terminate at the outer peripheral edge in a volute shape toward the direction of rotation, cooling oil in the outer grooves flows along the groove walls and is quickly discharged from opening portions at the outer peripheral edge.

Wet friction member

A copper-lead alloy bearing having a high corrosion resistance, especially a high corrosion resistance to sulfur, comprising a back metal and a copper-lead-based bearing alloy bonded thereto. The copper-lead-based bearing alloy consists of more than 10 but not more than 20% Ni, 0.5 to 8% Sn, 8 to 30% Pb, not less an 0.005 but not more than 0.2% P, and the balance of Cu and incidental impurities.

An end bearing used in an automatic transmission gear having a one-way clutch mechanism having multi-layers comprising a back metal, a copper alloy layer, a tin layer having a thickness of 0.5 to 4 .mu.m and a Cu-Sn intermetallic compound layer having a thickness of 0.5 to 4 .mu.m and having a Microvickers hardness of from 400 to 700, which intermetallic compound layer is positioned just under the tin layer and which intermetalic compound layer is are formed on the copper alloy of such an end bearing. According to the present invention, it is possible to improve anti-seizure characteristics of an end bearing even under a condition of a decrease in the amount of oil supply which decrease occurs in higher engine speed, thus enabling the provision of an end bearing having superior anti-seizure characteristics.

Multilayered end bearing

A wear resisting aluminum alloy composite material consisting of 10 to 40% by volume of a hybrid compact and the balance substantially an aluminum alloy matrix, wherein the hybrid compact contains 85 to 95% by weight of an inorganic whisker which is 0.2 to 1.2 .mu.m in diameter and 10 to 30 .mu.m in length, and 5 to 15% by weight of an alumina fiber which is 100 to 300 .mu.m in length, and the aluminum alloy matrix contains 4 to 12% by weight of a silicon having an average grain size of not more than 5 .mu.m. The composite material offers good properties such as anti-seizure property and wear resistance. The composite material is suitable for sliding members. Aluminum borate whisker and potassium titanate whisker may be preferably used as the inorganic whisker.

Wear resisting aluminum alloy composite material

A wet type sliding apparatus in which a multilayer sliding member is used in the presence of a lubricating oil, characterized in that the multilayer sliding member is composed of (1) a backing metal layer, (2) a porous, sintered layer provided thereon and (3) a surface layer consisting essentially of polyetheretherketone formed by impregnating and coating the porous, sintered layer with a sliding resin consisting essentially of polyetheretherketone. The above sliding member has a small friction coefficient and excellent wear resistance. In particular, the sliding noise can be more effectively inhibited by adjusting the face roughness of the surface layer of the sliding member to 2 .mu.m or less.

Wet type sliding apparatus

A sliding member obtained by molding a resin composition comprising an aromatic polyamide fiber, a polytetrafluoroethylene, a lead oxide and at least one other heat resistant synthetic resin, the aromatic polyamide fiber being in a proportion of 10 to 30% by volume based on the total volume of the aromatic polyamide fiber, the polytetrafluoroethylene, the lead oxide and the other heat resistant synthetic resin, the polytetrafluoroethylene being in a proportion of 5 to 20% by volume based on the total volume, and the lead oxide being in a proportion of 0.1 to less than 5% by volume based on the total volume, and provided that the total of the aromatic polyamide fiber, the polytetrafluoroethylene, the lead oxide and the other heat resistant synthetic resin equals to 100% by volume.

A sealing material for a scroll-type compressor consists essentially of, by weight, more than 20 and up to 40% PAN-system carbon fiber, 1 to 15% polytetrafluoroethylene resin, and the balance of polyphenylene sulfide resin. Further, not more than 10% hard particles formed of a copper alloy are added to the foregoing components. Thus, there can be provided a sealing material which can be applied to scroll members of a high surface hardness which have undergone Tufram process or Ni-P plating.

Sealing material for scroll-type compressor

A multi-layer sliding bearing having an excellent anti-fretting property, comprises a back steel layer, and a bearing alloy layer formed on the back steel layer. A film of phosphate having a thickness of 0.1-15 .mu.m is formed on a back surface of the back steel layer, thereby enhancing the anti-fretting property of the bearing. The provision of the phosphate film well compatible with a mating material overcomes damage to the bearing due to fretting in a high-speed range. Therefore, the bearing can fully exhibit a bearing performance even under severe conditions of use in a high-speed, high-temperature and high-load range as typically experienced in a high-performance engine.
