A hybrid powered vehicle is capable of running forward and backward under various conditions (e.g., by a motor) and enables the regeneration of energy during the reduction of speed without increasing the full length, weight, cost and the like of a transmission. The hybrid powered vehicle has a planetary gear unit, which comprises the following three elements: a ring gear, a sun gear, and a carrier pivotally supporting a planetary pinion arranged between the carrier and the sun gear. The planetary gear unit is disposed between an engine and an electric motor. The hybrid powered vehicle also has a forward/backward rotation switching mechanism, which comprises a brake for braking a first element that is one of the above-mentioned three elements and a clutch for connecting and disconnecting two elements among the above-mentioned three elements. An output shaft of the engine connects to one of the two elements other than the first element, and an output shaft of the electric motor and an input shaft of the transmission connect to the other.

Hybrid powered vehicle

A structure for supporting a one-way clutch between a planetary gear mechanism and the casing of an automatic transmission. The one-way clutch prevents reverse rotation of a speed-change gear. In the one-way clutch, an outer race and the planetary gear mechanism are integrally fixed to each other. An inner race and the casing are in meshing engagement with each other through a spline formed therebetween. Further, a meshing clearance is formed in the spline such that the inner race can move radially relative to the casing within a range of maintaining the meshed state.

Supporting structure for one-way clutch

A manual transmission includes a shift rail connected to a shift lever and supported by a housing so as to be axially movable, a sleeve connected to the shift rail, and a poppet plug for positioning the shift rail. When the speed change is completed by the operation of shift lever, the positioning ball of the poppet plug engages with one of poppet grooves formed in the shift rail, and the end portion of the shift rail abuts on the housing surface. As a result, the shift rail is axially held by the housing surface and the positioning ball of the poppet plug, so that the axial displacement of the shift rail is prevented. For this reason, even if a vibration occurs on the sleeve, the transmission of vibration from the sleeve to the shift lever via interposing elements including the shift rail is prevented, whereby a feeling of shifting operation is improved.

Manual transmission

Outermost fork shafts are provided adjacent to shift lugs thereof with arms which have free end faces opposing each other. The arms prevent the shift lugs from moving apart from their adjacent shift lug, thereby making it possible to prevent a control finger from accidentally entering between adjacent shift lugs.
