An electronic music note generator having a volume control circuit using an RC network to control sound amplitude. Signals are formed by the discharge characteristics of an RC network and the voltage level at charging determines the volume of the sound produced. Reverberation characteristics are provided by a persistence in the signal between notes as a result of the RC discharge characteristic.

An integrated circuit has semiconductor devices on a substrate. The devices each have gates of polycrystalline silicon and the devices are insulated from each other by a stopper diffused into the substrate between said devices at least in the regions adjacent said gates. Reliability of the integrated circuit is improved by having each polycrystalline silicon gate formed with a region adjacent said stopper diffused with impurity of the same polarity as the impurity diffused in said stopper.

Semiconductor integrated circuit and method of manufacture

A timepiece having a quartz crystal vibrator serving as a time standard, a digital display, and integrated divider and C-MOS transistor driving circuits for dividing the high frequency signal from the vibrator into low frequency timing signals for the direct driving of the liquid crystal display. A battery energizes the vibrator and divider circuits but the voltage thereof is insufficient for energizing the display driving circuits. Said voltage is stepped up by a circuit including a rectifier circuit monolithically integrated on the same substrate as said complementary coupled transistor integrated driving circuit and produces a voltage sufficient to energize the driving circuit.
