A high-density server includes a plurality of server enclosures, each of which includes an enclosure frame with a pair of front decks and a rear opening, an enclosure element having a power supply unit, and a pair of server modules having module connectors. The enclosure element is positioned in the rear side of the enclosure frame. The module connector of the server module is detachably connected to the front connector of the power supply unit when the server module moves along the front deck in an insertable/removable manner inside the enclosure frame. A cooling fan is positioned in the front side of the server module relative to the rear opening of the enclosure frame. An external interface is attached to the rear end of the server module or installed in the enclosure element, thus preventing a mess in the front face of the server enclosure due to external wires.

This invention provides a digital broadcasting receiving unit capable of achieving synchronization of time information between a base station and a receiving unit with reference clock without use of a crystal oscillator (VCXO) having a variable frequency. The crystal oscillator oscillates a clock of a predetermined fixed frequency. A variable digital dividing circuit divides a fixed frequency by a division ratio so as to change the division ratio. A system decoder detects reference time information from the base station. A reference counter generates time information of a receiving unit. A phase comparator detects a difference between reference time information and time information. A division ratio control circuit controls the change of the division ratio based on the difference. The reference counter generates time information based on a clock having a frequency obtained by dividing by the variable digital dividing circuit and feeds back time information to the phase comparator.

To improve the separation efficiency of a gas-liquid separator in the gas-liquid separator and an air conditioner, the gas-liquid separator having a vessel with an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe is arranged such that an exit end section of the inlet pipe is formed to be closed or to have a gap, an expanded end section having a width greater than the diameter of that portion of the inlet pipe which crosses a container of the gas-liquid separator is provided, and that a lateral hole is formed in a side face of the expanded end section. Refrigerant vapor and refrigerant liquid are efficiently separated from each other at the expanded end section, and this improves separation efficiency of the gas-liquid separator.

A receiver of a spread spectrum communication system comprises a plurality of despreading circuits, a rake circuit, and a path searcher. The plurality of despreading circuits despreads received signals having multipath components at predetermined timing allocated thereto. The rake circuit performs rake combining of the signals despread by despreading circuits. The path searcher forms a first window showing a part of a search range and calculates delay profile data of said received signals in said first window to search an effective path, forms at least one second window in the search range except said first window and calculates delay profile data of said received signals in said second window, and detects timing at which said received signals are despread based on calculated delay profile data to allocate the detected timing to said despreading circuits.

A semiconductor device fabrication process includes forming a Schottky layer, a cap layer covering the surface of the Schottky layer, and a Schottky electrode of a two-level structure having a lower portion that penetrates through the cap layer and reaches the Schottky layer, and having an upper portion larger than the lower portion in cross-sectional area and that overlies the cap layer. With this construction, surface defects are unlikely to occur, so that a highly reliable semiconductor device can be fabricated.
