A copper-based alloy which includes Cu, Ni, Si, Fe, and Mg, and at least one selected from the group consisting of Mo, W, and V, and in which a content of Mg is 0.02 mass % or more. The copper-based alloy exhibits wear resistance and improved weldability with respect to a substrate.

Copper-based alloy

A hardfacing alloy satisfies the following condition when the hardfacing alloy as a whole is 100 mass % (also simply referred to as '%,' hereinafter), Ni: 10-25%, Si: 1-3%, Fe: 3-18%, the total of one or more elements of Mo, W, and Nb: 6.5-20%, and the balance: Cu and impurities. In particular, it preferably satisfies Fe+2Mo&#x2265;22.6(%), Mo equivalent/Fe&#x2265;1.17, and Mo equivalent=Mo+0.522W+1.033Nb. In a hardfacing part composed of the hardfacing alloy, coarse hard particles are formed to ensure the wear resistance, and a soft phase present in the hard particles ensures the machinability. This may be understood as a raw material powder for hardfacing treatment and may also be understood as a hardfacing member in which a hardfacing part is formed on a base material using the raw material powder.

A wear-resistant copper-based alloy includes: at least one selected from the group made of molybdenum, tungsten, and vanadium and niobium carbide; chromium in an amount of less than 1.0% in terms of wt %; and a matrix and hard particles dispersed in the matrix, in which the hard particles include niobium carbide and at least one selected from the group made of Nb&#x2014;C&#x2014;Mo, Nb&#x2014;C&#x2014;W, and Nb&#x2014;C&#x2014;V around the niobium carbide.

A jointed body that has been solid-phase jointed at normal temperature and that has a non-conventional structure is presented. The jointed body is formed by solid-phase joining a first jointed member to a second jointed member, and has a junction interface between the first member and the second member. This jointed body includes an average crystal grain size in a near interface structure that constitutes a near interface area having a total width of 20 micrometers and extending at both sides of the junction interface as a center is 75-100% of an average crystal grain size in an around interface structure that constitutes around interface areas located at both outer sides of the near interface area. In the jointed body, the near interface structure after the joining is almost the same as the structure before the joining, allowing the jointed body to exert similar characteristics to the jointed members.

A jointed structure comprises a first metal layer and a second metal layer. The first metal layer and the second metal layer are jointed together and have different coefficients of thermal expansion. By forming the amorphous carbon film on a surface of a substrate, a conductive member can be obtained.

This is to provide a build-up wear-resistant copper-based alloy, which is advantageous for enhancing the cracking resistance and machinability, which is appropriate for cases of building up to form built-up layers especially, and which is equipped with the wear resistance, cracking resistance and machinability combinedly in a well balanced manner. A build-up wear-resistant copper-based alloy is characterized in that it has a composition, which includes nickel: 5.0-20.0%; silicon: 0.5-5.0%; manganese: 3.0-30.0%; and an element, which combines with manganese to form a Laves phase and additionally to form silicide: 3.0-30.0%; by weight %, and inevitable impurities; and additionally the balance being copper. The element can be one member or two or more members of titanium, hafnium, zirconium, vanadium, niobium and tantalum.

Build-up wear-resistant copper-based alloy

This aims to provide a wear-resistant copper-based alloy, which is advantages in not only enhancing wear resistance in a high temperature range but also enhancing crack resistance and machinability and which is especially suitable for forming a cladding layer. The wear-resistant copper-based alloy comprises, by weight, 4.7 to 22.0% nickel, 0.5 to 5.0% silicon, 2.7 to 22.0% iron, 1.0 to 15.0% chromium, 0.01 to 2.00% cobalt, 2.7 to 22.0% one or more of tantalum, titanium, zirconium and hafnium, and the balance of copper with inevitable impurities.

To provide a soft amorphous carbon exhibiting a low elastic modulus, an amorphous-carbon coated member provided with a coated film comprising the amorphous carbon, and a process for forming an amorphous carbon film. A sliding member includes a superficial portion forming a sliding surface.
