A hydrocarbon reforming catalyst is obtained by supporting on an inorganic porous carrier a platinum cluster-anion complex salt in an amount of 0.01 to 5 wt. % as platinum metal, a rhenium compound in an amount of 0.01 to 5 wt. % as rhenium metal and a halogen in an amount of 0.2 to 5 wt. %, and then subjecting the resultant catalyst precursor to (a) a thermal decomposition treatment an/or a reduction treatment or alternatively (b) an oxidation treatment and a reduction treatment.

Process for preparing a hydrocarbon reforming catalyst

A process is disclosed for re-activating a used solid acid catalyst wherein the catalyst is calcined to burn off heavy hydrocarbons and subsequently halogenated with chlorine and/or fluorine or their compounds entrained by an inert gas or a non-reducing gas. The resulting re-activated catalyst finds wide application in isomerization and oligomerization of olefins, conversion of methanol into hydrocarbons, and isomerization, disproportionation or trans-alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons.

Process for re-activation of solid acid catalyst

A process for converting linear aliphatic olefins into branched-chain aliphatic olefins, by contacting said linear aliphatic olefins with a comprising an active alumina carrier and fluorine and chlorine supported thereon, the amounts of fluorine and chlorine supported being 0.2 to 2.0% by weight, and 0.2 to 4.0% by weight, respectively, based on the total weight of the catalyst composition. The aforesaid isomerization catalyst can be produced by contacting an active alumina carrier with at least one halogenated hydrocarbon containing fluorine and chlorine in the molecule at a temperature of 200.degree. to 500.degree. C.

Isomerization catalyst and process for production thereof

There is provided a method of selectively hydrogenating acetylenes in a C.sub.4 -hydrocarbon mixture containing butadiene for removing said acetylenes wherein a hydrogen containing gas and the liquid C.sub.4 -hydrocarbon mixture are continuously fed through the upper portion of a reactor filled with catalyst particles carrying one or more precious metals selected from the Group VIII elements of the Periodic Table, the hydrogen containing gas is present in the reactor forming a substantially continuous phase at the hydrogen partial pressure of less than 1.5 kg/cm.sup.2.a, while the C.sub.4 -hydrocarbon mixture is allowed to flow down over the surfaces of the catalyst particles in the liquid form and to react at 5 to 80.degree. C., and the reaction mixture is withdrawn through the bottom of the reactor.

Method of removing acetylenes from C.sub.4 -hydrocarbon mixture

An electrical insulating oil composition having satisfactory oxidation stability, electrical properties and low-temperature performances, consisting essentially of (I) an electrical insulating oil having a sulphur content of 0.1-0.35 wt.% prepared from a paraffin or mixed base crude oil and (II) 0.001-1.0% by weight, based on said insulating oil, of an essentially amorphous ethylene-propylene copolymer having an average molecular weight of 10,000-200,000 and a propylene content of 10-70 mol%.

Electrical insulating oil compositions

An electrical insulating oil having excellent oxidation stability, thermal stability and/or hydrogen absorbability consisting essentially of (A) a base hydrocarbon oil obtained by hydrofining and then dewaxing a fraction boiling at 280.degree.-400.degree. derived from a paraffin or mixed base crude oil, (B) a highly aromatic hydrocarbon oil obtained by hydrofining and/or distilling a heavy hydrocarbon fraction boiling at 250.degree.-400.degree. C produced as a by-product at the time of catalytically reforming naphtha or the like and, if desired, (C) an oil obtained by treating a lubricating oil fraction boiling at 230.degree.-500.degree. C derived from a crude petroleum oil.

Electrical insulating oils

This invention provides a method for the preparation of insulating oil having good oxidation stability, electric characteristics and resistance to copper corrosion which comprises subjecting a distillate (stock) within a temperature range from 250.degree. to 400.degree. C. in terms of the boiling point at atmospheric pressure to solvent refining to a desulfurization from 30 to 75% by weight to give a raffinate, said distillate having been obtained either by distillation at atmospheric pressure of a paraffin- or mixture-base crude oil and/or by distillation under reduced pressure of a residual oil from the atmospheric pressure distillation, subjecting said raffinate to hydrogenating refining to a desulfurization from 40 to 90% by weight and subjecting the refined product to solvent dewaxing, and if necessary, subsequently subjecting the dewaxed product to clay treatment to a sulfur content of the final product from 0.1 to 0.35% by weight.
