A zinc oxide powder in which a BET specific surface area of the powder is 8 m/g or more and 65 m/g or less, an apparent specific volume measured by a loose packing method of the powder is 1.0 mL/g or more and 7.5 mL/g or less, and a value indicated by (the apparent specific volume measured by the loose packing method/an apparent specific volume measured by a tapping method), which is obtained by dividing the apparent specific volume (mL/g) measured by the loose packing method by the apparent specific volume (mL/g) measured by the tapping method of the powder, is 1.50 or more and 2.50 or less.

Zinc oxide powder of the present invention has a specific surface area which is in a range of 1.5 m/g to 65 m/g, a conductivity which is 150 &#x3bc;S/cm or less and a bulk specific volume which is in a range of 0.5 mL/g to 10 mL/g.

According to the present invention, there is provided an exhaust gas purifying filter capable of effectively removing collected particulate matter. There is provided an exhaust gas purifying filter, which includes an inflow surface into which exhaust gas including particulate matter flows, an exhaust surface from which purified gas is exhausted, and a filter substrate which is constructed of a porous body, the filter substrate including a porous partition and a gas passage which is enclosed by the porous partition, a porous film which includes silicon carbide is provided on a surface of the porous partition, and in a pore diameter distribution of the porous film, pores with the pore diameter of 0.01 &#x3bc;m or more and 3.0 &#x3bc;m or less are 70% or more of total volume of the pores, and pores with the pore diameter of 0.01 &#x3bc;m or more and 0.3 &#x3bc;m or less are 5% or more and 90% or less of total volume of the pores.

The transparent conductive film of the present invention is formed to have a conductive layer containing at least ruthenium fine particles, gold fine particles and silver fine particles, the weight ratio of ruthenium fine particles and gold fine particles in the conductive layer being within the range of 40:60 to 99:1. As a result, this transparent conductive film and a display device having this transparent conductive film have superior electromagnetic wave shielding effects and anti-reflection effects, high chemical stability and superior visibility.
