The present invention provides a virucide composition and/or sporicide composition having a high virucidal effect and sporicidal effect and being excellent in safety and workability. That is, the present invention provides a virucide composition and/or sporicide composition comprising (a) an inorganic peroxide, (b) tetraacetylethylenediamine and (c) at least one selected from a salt of an alkaline metal salt with an inorganic acid and a salt of an alkaline earth metal with an inorganic acid in a specific ratio.

A germicidal-disinfectant detergent composition comprising (a) a cationic germicide, (b) a metal chelating agent and (c) at least one surfactant selected from anionic surfactants, nonionic surfactants and amphoteric surfactants is described. Excellent detergency and germicidal action are provided.

A cleanser composition comprising a phosphate type surfactant and an amide ether carboxylic acid as the essential components. This cleanser composition is lowly irritant to the skin etc., and excellent in lathering property, gives creamy foam in quality, and can give an excellent feeling to the skin cleansed even when it is used in hard water.

Described is a detergent composition comprising (A) a sulfate ester surfactant, (B) at least one surfactant selected from amphoteric surfactants, amine oxide surfactants, alkanol amide surfactants and amide amino-acid surfactants, (C) a cationic bactericide and (D) a metal chelating agent, the weight ratio of said (A) to (B) being 1-50 and the content of said (C) being 0.2 wt. % to 5 wt. %. The detergent composition according to the present invention has excellent detergency, foamability and foam durability and at the same time, has high bactericidal effects because it can be mixed stably with a cationic bactericide.

Disclosed herein are antifoaming agents for fermentation which include, as active ingredient at least one of (a) a reaction product obtained by adding at least one alkylene oxide to a mixture of a fat and/or oil with a trihydric or still higher polyhydric alcohol, or (b) a compound represented by the following general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein n stands for a number of 2-50, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 mean individually a hydrogen atom or an acyl group having 2-31 carbon atoms, x denotes an alkylene group having 2-4 carbon atoms, and m1, m2 and m3 are individually a number of 0-200, an L-amino acid-producing medium containing either one of these components, and a production process for L-amino acids making use of this medium. The use of this antifoaming agent permits the quick, sure and durable suppression of bubbling during incubation, and the overall production of the L-amino acid is significantly improved.
