A ranging device includes transducers, a transmission circuit, a reception circuit, a transfer data generation circuit, and a transfer circuit. The transmission circuit causes the transducers to transmit transmission waves. The reception circuit outputs a received signal obtained by digitizing a reflected wave of the transmission wave with a sampling frequency equal to or more than a frequency of the transmission wave. The generation circuit separates, into a target period and a non-target period, time-series received signals. The target period is a period in which a wave height is equal to or more than a threshold. The non-target period is a period in which a wave height is less than the threshold. The generation circuit performs thinning-out processing on received signals in the non-target period and generates waveform information indicating a waveform received by the transducer. The transfer circuit outputs the waveform information.

A method includes forming an amorphous magnetic film on a film formation subject by sputtering a target that includes any one selected from a group consisting of MnSn, MnGe, and (MnFe)Ge as a main component and crystalizing the amorphous magnetic film by heating the amorphous magnetic film. Radar device

A radar device includes: a transmission beam controller that selects, every first period, a transmission beam set used for transmission of a radar signal from among a plurality of transmission beam sets each including at least two transmission beam directions; and a radar transmitter that transmits the radar signal in a predetermined transmission period by using the selected transmission beam set, wherein the transmission beam controller switching, every second period within the first period, among the at least two transmission beam directions included in the transmission beam set.

A detection device includes: a first correlation circuit that computes correlation of a first wave detection signal, which is a phase-modulated input wave detected at determined frequency, with a determined code sequence for every code composing the determined code sequence, and to generate first correlation signals the number of which corresponds to a code sequence length, which is a length of the determined code sequence; and a control circuit that rotates phases of the first correlation signals, generates an added value by adding the phase-rotated first correlation signals, and determines based on the added value whether the phase-modulated input wave is a return wave from a determined object.

A radar apparatus includes a correlator which, in operation, calculates a correlation value between the digital transmission pulse signals and the digital reception pulse signals, an error estimator which, in operation, estimates, on the basis of the correlation value, an I component error and a Q component error included in the digital reception pulse signals, a correction parameter calculator which, in operation, calculates a correction parameter for correcting the I component error and the Q component error, and an error corrector which, in operation, corrects, on the basis of the correction parameter, the I component error and the Q component error included in at least one of the digital transmission pulse signals and the digital reception pulse signals.

Radar apparatus and signal generating apparatus

A pulse transmission controller generates transmission timing signals for a high-frequency radar transmission signal in every transmission cycle. A transmission phase shifter gives a transmission signal generated by a modulator phase shifts each corresponding to a transmission cycle on the basis of the transmission timing signals generated at intervals that are equal to the transmission cycle. A reception phase shifter gives a reception signal that is output from an A/D converter reception phase shifts that are opposite in direction to the respective transmission phase shifts given by the transmission phase shifter on the basis of the transmission timing signals generated at intervals that are equal to the transmission cycle.

Radar apparatus

A radar device is provided with: a transmitter that transmits a high-frequency radar transmission signal from a transmission antenna; a controller that controls execution or stopping of transmission of the radar transmission signal; a receiver that amplifies a thermal noise signal inputted from reception antenna by using an initial gain value and quantize the amplified thermal noise signal, while the transmission of the radar transmission signal is stopped; and a gain controller that adjusts the prescribed gain value to a gain value suitable for dithering of the thermal noise signal, based on the quantized thermal noise signal.

A transmission sequence generated by a first sector radar is a sequence obtained by multiplying a predetermined code sequence by a first orthogonalized code, and a transmission sequence generated by a second sector radar is a sequence obtained by multiplying a predetermined code sequence by a second orthogonalized code. A value obtained by multiplication of the ith element of the first orthogonalized code and the ith element of the second orthogonalized code is equal to the ith element of a fundamental sequence VV_2n having a length of 2n (n is an integer greater than or equal to 1). The fundamental sequence VV_2n includes a sub fundamental sequence VV_2(n&#x2212;1) having a length of n and satisfies VV_2n={VV_2(n&#x2212;1), &#x2212;VV_2(n&#x2212;1)} or {&#x2212;VV_2(n&#x2212;1), VV_2(n&#x2212;1)}.

Multi-sector radar

A wireless communication apparatus includes multiple antenna devices, a signal generator, a phase shifter, a phase controller, and a quadrature error corrector (phase error corrector and amplitude error corrector). The signal generating circuitry, in operation, generates an IQ signal having an I signal and a Q signal. The plurality of phase shifting circuitry provided for each of the plurality of antenna devices, in operation, generates a plurality of combination signals by combining the I signal and the Q signal based on a predetermined combining scheme. The phase controlling circuitry, in operation, controls the predetermined combining scheme in each of the plurality of phase shifting circuitry. The quadrature error correcting circuitry, in operation, corrects at least one of amplitude combining scheme and phase combining scheme of the predetermined combining scheme in a correction of the predetermined combining scheme.

Wireless communication apparatus and method

A radar transmitting unit Tx transmits a radio-frequency radar transmission signal from a transmission antenna which is inclined in the direction of a depression angle &#x3c6;. A radar receiving unit Rx estimates the height and speed of a vehicle which travels on a road surface using a reflected wave signal from the vehicle. A template generating unitgenerates a variation in a phase component of the reflected wave signal corresponding to N heights and speeds of the vehicle as N templates. N vehicle height/speed template correlation calculation units #to #Nrep calculate correlation on the basis of any one of the N templates and a correlation value between the reflected wave signal and a transmission code of the radar transmission signal.

Respective sector radars generate first and second transmission signals by multiplying any one Spano code sequence and any one orthogonal code sequence, selected among 2first and second Spano code sequences which are different from each other and 2first and second orthogonal code sequences which are different from each other, in a predetermined order in each transmission period, where N is an integer of 1 or greater. Respective sector radars convert the first and second transmission signals into first and second high frequency signals, and transmit the first and second high frequency signals through first and second transmission antennas. The 2first orthogonal code sequences and the 2second orthogonal code sequences used in the respective sector radars are orthogonal over transmission periods of M multiples of 2, where M is an integer of 2 or greater.

Radar system

A transmission signal generator produces N transmission pulses for every transmission period from N (N: an integer of 2 or more) kinds of transmission code sequences and (N&#xd7;M) (M: an integer of 2 or more) kinds of orthogonal code sequences, the transmission pulses being obtained by multiplying transmission codes of the N kinds of transmission code sequences, with selected N orthogonal codes of the (N&#xd7;M) kinds of orthogonal code sequences. In one transmission period, a radio transmitter converts the N transmission pulses to high-frequency signals, and transmits the signals through a transmission antenna. The (N&#xd7;M) kinds of orthogonal code sequences are code sequences which satisfy a predetermined mathematical expression in M transmission periods.

A WiGig wireless device partially performs a masking processing on a preamble of a transmission signal frame and generates a repetition pattern of the same pulse capable of being used in a correlation detection of a sensor. That is, a repetition pattern of a Golay code is output by intermittently performing the masking processing on the Golay code sequence. The sensor performs the correlation detection using a pulse compression technology, thereby detecting the antenna radiation pattern even in an environment where a reflected wave is generated, by separating the direct wave and the reflected wave.
