A medical instrument to be inserted into a living body before being used. The medical instrument is provided with a medical instrument main body including a long linear body having flexibility on which a coating layer covering at least the outer periphery on the distal side thereof is formed. The coating layer composes of a first layer which includes a material containing a low-friction resin material capable of lowering friction and a binder resin material serving as a binder; a second layer which is formed on the first layer and includes a material containing a low-friction resin material and a pigment and in which the content of a binder resin material is lower than the binder resin material content of the first layer or nil; and a third layer which is formed on the second layer and includes a material containing a low-friction resin material.

Medical instrument

A guide wire includes an elongate wire body, and a marker at least at a distal-side portion of the wire body over the whole circumference to indicate the intracorporeal position of the wire body. The marker has a first line-forming portion and a second line-forming portion which intersect each other at a plurality of locations so that the marker has a grid-like shape as a whole. According to another aspect, a guide wire includes a member with a core wire, a marker-forming layer partly encircling the outer surface of the member and differing in color from the member, and a coating layer covering the marker-forming layer and the member at least in the marker-forming layer region and having transparency making the marker-forming layer visible. The marker-forming and coating layers can be formed from mutually miscible resins, while the marker-forming layer functions as a visible marker.

Guide wire

A guide wire includes an elongated wire body and a radiopaque part capable of forming an X-ray image and located at the distal end portion of the wire body. The radiopaque part has a radiopaque member and a resin coating layer. The radiopaque member is composed of a metallic material capable of forming an X-ray image and arranged outside the wire body and in the lengthwise direction of the wire body. The resin coating layer covers the radiopaque member and at least part of coating layer contains a radiopaque material capable of forming an X-ray image. The radiopaque part is divided into a first radiopaque region, a second radiopaque region, and a third radiopaque region which are sequentially arranged from the distal end in the lengthwise direction of the wire body.

An endoscopic treatment tool according to the present invention is an endoscopic treatment tool which is inserted into hollow organs via the mouth, nose, anus, or other natural orifice of the patient and performs suturing treatment within the hollow organs or abdominal cavities, includes: a hollow organ lining support which is smaller than the smallest diameter of a passage from a natural orifice of the hollow organ, the hollow organ lining support being able to expand so as to have a diameter larger than the smallest diameter of the passage from the natural orifice of the hollow organ.

Endoscopic treatment tool and suturing method using the same

An elongate member housing tool assembly includes a distal end side tubular member disposed on the distal end side and a proximal end side tubular member disposed on the proximal end side, which accommodate an elongate member, and a liquid inlet port to which a liquid supplying tool for supplying liquid into the distal end side tubular member is removably connected and which is provided on the distal end side tubular member. The distal end side tubular member and the proximal end side tubular member are wound spirally, and the proximal end of the distal end side tubular member and the distal end of the proximal end side tubular member are disposed in a spaced relationship from each other. A distal portion of the guide wire is accommodated in the distal end side tubular member, except possibly the most distal portion of the elongate member.

Medical elongate member housing tool and medical elongate member housing tool assembly

A guide wire includes a core possessing a distal end part and a proximal end part, a distal covering layer covering the distal end part of the core, and a proximal covering layer covering the proximal end part of the core. The proximal covering layer includes a first layer that covers the surface of the core, and a second layer that partly covers the surface of the first layer. The first layer has a first part which is not covered by the second layer and a second part which is covered by the second layer, and the surface of the second part is tightly surrounded by the proximal end of the distal covering layer.

The outer diameter of the distal end of the annular member and the outer diameter of the proximal end of the resin coating layer are preferably equal, and a distal end face of the annular member is joined to a proximal end face of the resin coating layer.

Guide wire for catheter

An extruder apparatus for molding a tube used for guiding a rod-like medical instrument into a living body. The resulting tubular body is made of a synthetic resin and has a longitudinal hollow portion to permit the passage of the rod-like medical instrument. The whole of the tubular body is formed to have a chemical uniformity, but at least one brittle portion such as a weld line is longitudinally formed over the entire length (or almost the entire length except the tip portion) of the tubular body. The brittle portion is formed by a die including a nozzle having a resin flow passageway of annular cross section. At least one baffle extends radially into the passageway for substantially temporarily splitting the flow which is then recombined to form the brittle portion.

Extrusion apparatus for molding guiding tube for medical instruments

A method of firmly securing a catheter body to a surface portion of human skin, without causing the catheter body to be bent or reducing the diameter of the inner passage of the catheter body. This method employs a catheter-securing member which comprises a cylindrical body for allowing the catheter body to be slidably inserted therein, and a slit is provided along the axial direction of the cylindrical body. In this method a ligature is first pierced through a surface portion of human skin and tied over the surface of human skin, leaving a pair of free end portions extending out of the skin, and then the cylindrical body is secured with the free end portions of the ligature by winding the ligature around the cylindrical body and fastening them.

Method of securing a catheter body to a human skin surface

Medical instrument introduction cannula, which is useful as a guide means for introducing and indwelling a rod-like material instrument such as a catheter and a guide wire. This cannula is removed after use from the medical instrument by being splitted. This cannula is formed of a hollow tubular body having a strip member consisting of a material different from the other portion of the tubular body, which extends over the entire or almost the entire length of the tubular body. The strip member has a weld line along the length of the strip member, or consists of a resin which exhibits a good bonding property only to one of the other components forming the tubular body. The tubular body can be splitted by way of the weld line or the removal of the strip member having such a bonding property. The method of manufacturing the medical instrument introduction cannular by a two-color extruder is also disclosed.

Molding a guiding tube for medical instruments

There is disclosed a guiding tube for introducing rod-like medical instruments such as a catheter, which can be easily split and removed from, for example, a catheter, after the catheter inserted through the guiding tube has been attached to a blood vessel. The guiding tube comprises a main body provided with a longitudinal slit and formed of a mixture of first and second materials and a stripe detachably embedded liquid-tight in the slit of the main body and formed of a third material which exhibits a good bonding to the second material, but a poor bonding to the first material.
