A heat-resistant cold rolled ferritic stainless steel sheet containing, in mass %, 0.02% or less of C, 0.1% to 1.0% of Si, greater than 0.6% to 1.5% of Mn, 0.01% to 0.05% of P, 0.0001% to 0.0100% of S, 13.0% to 20.0% of Cr, 0.1% to 3.0% of Mo, 0.005% to 0.20% of Ti, 0.3% to 1.0% of Nb, 0.0002% to 0.0050% of B, 0.005% to 0.50% of Al, 0.02% or less of N, with the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, in which {111}-oriented grains are present at an area ratio of 20% or greater in a region from a surface layer to t/4 (t is a sheet thickness), {111}-oriented grains are present at an area ratio of 40% or greater in a region from t/4 to t/2, and {011}-oriented grains are present at an area ratio of 15% or less in the entire region in a thickness direction.

Cr-bearing heat-resistant steel sheet excellent in workability and method for production thereof

The present invention provides: a fuel tank made of a ferritic stainless steel sheet having long lasting corrosion resistance under the environment of the fuel tank and excellent in formability when fabricating the fuel tank; more specifically, a fuel tank made of a ferritic stainless steel sheet containing 10 to 25 mass % of Cr and having an average r-value of 1.9 or larger, an r-value in-plane anisotropy &Dgr;r of 1.0 or smaller, and a total elongation of 30% or larger, having a plane intensity ratio I(111)/I(100) of 10 or larger, and having lubricant films on the surfaces of the steel sheet and a surface friction coefficient of 0.10 or less.

A metal plate is given an excellent decorative color by a multi-ceramic coating of a colored ceramic layer formed over the metal plate, the colored ceramic layer being made of at least one selected from the group consisting of nitrides and carbides of titanium, zirconium, hafnium, chromium, niobium, and aluminum and having a thickness of 0.1 .mu.m to 1 .mu.m; and a transparent ceramic layer formed over the colored ceramic layer, the transparent ceramic layer being made of at least one of the group consisting of silicon oxide, silicon nitride, and aluminum oxide and having a thickness of 0.1 .mu.m to 5 .mu.m. The depositions of the colored and transparent ceramic layers are effected by a dry process, and the order of deposition of the colored and transparent ceramic layers can be reversed.

Multi ceramic layer-coated metal plate and process for manufacturing same

Chrome-coated stainless steel is provided that has better adhesion, even when it is being shaped, than conventional wet-type plating, and better atmospheric corrosion resistance than bare stainless steel. In addition, the chrome-coated stainless steel, provided by means of physical vapor deposition, also possesses the same color tone and luster as chromium, and thus has superior decorative compatibility with existing wet-type chrome plated parts.
