A gas turbine includes a compressor, a combustor, and a turbine. The turbine includes a honeycomb seal disposed so as to be secured to a casing side in a clearance between the casing and turbine blades rotating around a rotating shaft and a seal fin that is provided on an end face of each of the turbine blades facing the honeycomb seal. The seal fin extends in a direction perpendicular to the rotating shaft. The honeycomb seal is formed by a plurality of corrugated sheet metals overlapped with each other at walls of nodes thereof and the walls of the nodes are blazed with each other. Each of the corrugated sheet metals has trapezoids formed in alternating fashion. A longer direction of each wall of the nodes of the honeycomb seal is angled with respect to the rotational direction of the turbine blades.

A method of production of a welded joint which enables improvement of the fatigue strength in the case where measures for improvement of the fatigue strength cannot be applied due to the presence of structurally sealed regions is provided. The method is provided with a first weld step which performs welding by forming an inside weld toe or root part by using a weld metal with a transformation start temperature of 175&#xb0; C. to 400&#xb0; C. in range, at least parts of the weld metal forming the inside weld toe or root part which was formed at the first weld step becoming unmelted parts, and a second weld step which performs welding for building up the weld metal by a single pass by a weld heat input by which all of the unmelted parts are retransformed to austenite so as to introduce compressive residual stress to the inside weld toe or root part.

In a surface finishing method for a stainless steel material, excimer irradiation is made on a surface of the stainless steel material by emitting ultraviolet light to improve wetness. Then, a surface finishing is applied on the surface of the stainless steel material wherein the wetness is improved. In manufacturing a gasket, the stainless steel material or plate is cut in a predetermined shape, and holes and bead are formed in the metal formation plate. A connecting portion is formed for partially connecting the first and second metal plates. In the event that the cylinder head lift becomes greater than the following capability of the sealing bead in the primary sealing portion, the secondary sealing portion provides excellent following capability relative to the lift.

A metal laminate gasket with a hole to be sealed includes a base metal plate having a first hole corresponding to the hole to be sealed, and a first steel plate laminated on one side of the base metal plate and having a second hole with a diameter greater than that of the first hole. The second hole has an inner surface and is aligned with the first hole when the base metal plate and the first steel plate are laminated. A coating layer is deposited on the first steel plate and has a portion deposited on the inner surface of the second hole.

The coating member is formed of a non-thermoplastic coating material to operate as a surface pressure regulating member between the flange and the base portion to thereby regulate a surface pressure at the flange.
