A contour CL of a carcassincludes a curved portionand an inversely curved portion. A boundary between the curved portionand the inversely curved portionis an inflection point PV. A part or an entirety of the curved portionis represented by a first arc. A part or an entirety of the inversely curved portionis represented by a second arc. The first arc and the second arc are tangent to each other at the inflection point PV. A ratio (X/W) of a distance X in an axial direction to a distance W in the axial direction is not less than 70% and not greater than 85%. A ratio (Y/H) of a distance Y in a radial direction to a distance H in the radial direction is not less than 15% and not greater than 22%.

A pneumatic tire in which a tread part is provided with a pair of central main grooves extending continuously around the circumference of the tire on both sides of a tire equator C, and central thin grooves extending continuously around the circumference of the tire on the tire-axially inner sides of the central main grooves and having less groove width than the central main grooves. In each block, a shallow portion of the first variable depth sipe overlaps, in the tire axial direction, with a deep main portion of the second variable depth sipe. an axial groove dividing the blocks is provided with a tie bar overlapping, in the tire axial direction, with the deep main portion of the adjacent variable depth sipe.
