A novel liquid crystal display device is disclosed. The device comprises two polarizer films, a liquid crystal cell disposed between these two polarizer films wherein liquid-crystalline molecules are oriented substantially normal to the substrates under non-operative state in the absence of applied external electric field; at least one layer of a first optically-anisotropic layer having an optically positive refractive anisotropy having Re falling within a range from 40 to 150 nm at visible light; and at least one layer of a second optically-anisotropic layer having an optically negative refractive anisotropy, and having Re of 10 nm or less and Rth falling within a range from 60 to 250 nm at visible light.

Disclosed are a silver halide photographic light-sensitive material comprising silver halide containing a metal complex having a cyanide ligand in a silver halide emulsion layer and comprising a hydrazine compound having an onium group in the molecule, and a method of developing the silver halide photographic light-sensitive material with a developer having a pH of 9.0-11.0. Photothermographic material

A photothermographic material having an image-forming layer that contains at least a non-photosensitive silver salt of an organic acid, a photosensitive silver halide, a nucleating agent and a binder on a support, and a protective layer at a position remoter from the support compared with the image-forming layer, which shows a saturation swelling time of 60 seconds or longer in distilled water at 21&deg; C. According to the present invention, there is provided a photothermographic material for photographic art, in particular, for scanners, image setters and so forth, which shows low humidity dependency during development for developed character line width and can secure high image density (Dmax) even in a low humidity environment.

The present invention discloses a laser ablative recording material having at least one coloring agent layer and at least one overcoat layer on a surface of a support, wherein at least one of the overcoat layers contains a non-self-oxidizing, low temperature heat decomposable polymer which, when heated at a rate of 10&deg; C./min, starting at room temperature, decreases in weight by 50% or more before reaching 300&deg; C. This laser ablative recording material is characterized by excellent scratch resistance, a low Dmin, and a very high dye removing efficiency.

An object of the present invention is to provide a heat-developable photosensitive material of less heat development temperature and humidity dependency, which is unlikely to be affected by uneven temperature distribution in heat development apparatuses and humidity condition, and can stably form uniform images, in particular, a heat-developable photosensitive material of improved stability of coating solutions overtime, which can form uniform ultrahigh contrast images without unevenness, which are suitable for mechanical processes, and exhibit suppressed fluctuation of photographic performance depending on the storage condition. According to the present invention, there is provided a heat-developable photosensitive material having at least one photosensitive image-forming layer comprising an organic silver salt, a photosensitive silver halide, a reducing agent and an organic binder, wherein at least one of the photosensitive image-forming layer and a layer adjacent to the photosensitive image-forming layer contains a first halogen-releasing precursor having at least one dissociative or hydrophilic substituent and a second hydrophobic halogen-releasing precursor.

Heat-developable photosensitive material and method for forming image using the same

A heat developable photosensitive material having on a support a non-photosensitive sliver salt, a photosensitive sliver halide, and a binder, which has an image forming layer containing the photosensitive sliver halide and comprises cyclic ketone or cyclic imine compound having a specific structure in combination with a nucleation agent on the side that the image forming layer is formed. This heat developable photosensitive material is an excellent high contrast sensitive material having a good stability.

The present invention discloses a laser ablative recording material which has one or more layers including a coloring agent layer on a surface of a support, wherein at least one layer from among one or more layers including the coloring agent layer contains nitric acid ester of carboxyalkyl cellulose having a degree of nitric ester group substitution per glucose anhydride unit within a range of from 0.05 to 2.8; and at least one layer from among one or more layers including the coloring agent layer contains a material having absorption in the laser wavelength region. The laser ablative recording material of the invention is characterized by a small Dmin and a high removing efficiency of the image forming dyes.
