An electronic device module includes a metallic casing having at least one boss formed therein, an electronic device unit placed inside the casing, connector terminals for external device connection electrically connected to the electronic device unit, and a metallic ground shell disposed so as to surround the connector terminals, having a front surface covered with a metal coated layer and including at least one boss insertion portion formed, a head of the at least one boss inserted into the at least one boss insertion portion and the coated layer positioned on a periphery of the corresponding at least one boss insertion portion being welded to each other to electrically connect and fix the ground shell to the casing.

Electronic device module

In a connector that includes a board connector mounted on a board and a cable connector attached to ends of both a shielded cable and a non-shielded cable and connected to the board connector, the cable connector includes contacts connected respectively to the core wires of the shielded cable and the non-shielded cable and a shield shell that surrounds only the contacts connected to the core wires of the shielded cable, and the board connector includes board contacts connected respectively to the contacts of the cable connector and a shield shell that surrounds only the board contacts connected to the contacts surrounded by the shield shell of the cable connector. The connector properly shields the contacts connected to the core wires of the shielded cable in both of the mutually connected connectors and makes it easy to perform impedance matching.

Connector

A connector apparatus has a first connector, a second connector to be mated with and unmated from the first connector, and a mating detecting member for detecting a mated state and an unmated state of the first and the second connectors. The first connector has a lock lever to be engaged with the second connector. The mating detecting member has a detecting portion for detecting the mated and the unmated states, a holding portion for locking the mating detecting member at a standby position, and an operating portion for locking the mating detecting member at an assurance position. The detecting portion has a locking portion to be engaged with the lock lever. The holding portion is displaced in a direction different from the mating and the unmating directions to be engaged with the first connector.

In a connector including an insulator and a contact held by the insulator, a fixing member is coupled to the insulator for fixing the insulator to an object. The fixing member includes a main body received in a receiving portion formed to the insulator. A leg mechanism extends from the main body for being fixed to the object. In addition, a first engaging mechanism extends from the main body and is engaged with the receiving portion in a first direction. On the other hand, the second engaging mechanism extends from the main body and is engaged with the insulator in a second direction opposite to the first direction.

Connector capable of being firmly fixed to an object and a fixing member used in the connector

An electrical contact (10b) comprises a pin contact portion (1b), a press-fit portion (2b), and a terminal portion (3b) integrally formed from a metal sheet which has a flat surface defined by X and Z directions and a predetermined thickness in a Y direction. The press-fit portion as a first flat portion extends in the Z direction with a first end (2b.alpha.) and a second end (2b.beta.) opposite to each other. The pin contact portion extends from the first end in the X direction. The terminal portion as a second flat portion extends from the second end continuously in the X and the Z directions with a leg portion (3b.alpha.) extending in the Z direction and a foot portion (3b.beta.) extending from the leg portion in the X direction. The foot portion serves as a connecting portion to be connected to a conductive portion formed on an electrical circuit board. A method of manufacturing the electrical contact comprises a punching process in which the metal sheet is punched in the Y direction to form a contact blank having a temporary pin contact portion, the press-fit portion, and the terminal portion, and a pin-forming process in which the temporary pin contact portion is press-formed in the Z direction to obtain the pin contact portion having a generally circular cross section of a diameter greater than the predetermined thickness.

A connector comprises a combination of a plug connector and a receptacle connector. The plug connector has a plug insulator provided with first plug-side engaging portions formed on opposite side walls thereof, and at least one second plug-side engaging portion formed on a part of the plug insulator that is parallel to a width direction of the plug insulator. The receptacle connector has a receptacle insulator provided with first receptacle-side engaging portions formed on opposite side walls thereof to be engaged with the first plug-side engaging portions, and at least one second receptacle-side engaging portion formed on a part of the receptacle insulator that is parallel to a width direction of the receptacle insulator to be engaged with the second plug-side engaging portion.

Connector capable of reliably locking a plug connector to a receptacle

A release mechanism comprises an ejector formed on a frame member to be movable forward and backward, and a lever rotated in response to a forward movement of the ejector to release a mating connector from conductive contacts. The ejector is located in an opening of the frame member in a normal condition in which the mating connector is inserted in the from member. The ejector is protruded outside the opening only start of releasing operation of the mating connector. The ejector has a first mode enabling a predetermined forward movement and a second mode disabling the predetermined forward movement. The release mechanism further comprises members for cancelling the first mode and putting the ejector into the second mode after the mating connector is released from the conductive contacts, and members for restoring the first mode of the ejector from the second mode in response to an external operation of the ejector while the mating connector is connected to the conductive contacts. The ejector is turned from the first mode into the second mode at the time instant immediately after the mating connector is released from the conductive contacts.

For removably receiving in a predetermined direction a printed circuit board (11) having first and second side edges, a socket connector comprises an insulator housing having first and second longitudinal ends, a bell crank (33) consisting of first and second crank arms (33(1), 33(2)) pivoted by an axle (29) to the insulator housing at the first longitudinal end, and a push-button (31) for pushing the first crank arm. When the push-button is pressed substantially downwardly in the predetermined direction, the first crank arm rotates outwardly relative to the predetermined direction around the axle. The second crank arm rotates to lift up the first side edge of the printed circuit board. It is preferred that the insulator housing comprises a longitudinal rod (17) preferably having a groove (21) and first and second side members (19(1), 19(2)) extended from the first and the second longitudinal ends to define extensions of the groove for removably receiving the printed circuit board.

Socket connector with a push-button for a bell crank

A connector is connected to a cable composed of a plurality of electric wires, each of which comprises a metal wire covered with an insulator, and a sheath provided with an opening formed at its terminal end and covering the electric wires with one end portions of the electric wires projecting from the opening. The connector comprises an insulating base member, a plurality of conductive contact elements fixedly supported in the base member, and an insulating cover member removably coupled to the base member and covering terminal portions of the contact elements respectively connected to the metal wires. The cover member comprises an electric wire positioning portion for holding terminal ends of the one end portions of the electric wires so that the terminal ends confront the contact elements corresponding thereto, respectively, and a cable holding portion for holding the cable at an end portion of the sheath adjacent the opening.
