A punch press provided with a tool magazine in which a plurality of tool mounting gondolas are supported movably in a vertical loop by and between two endless chains arranged vertically around sprocket wheels. Each gondola is supported at its supporting points which differ from each other at least in height, whereby the gondola is moved around in the loop without overturn when the sprocket wheels are rotated by a motor. Each of the gondolas stays at a manually tool changing location of the magazine where a table is provided for changing a number of tool assemblies in the magazine. The table has at least one guide which is positioned at two different heights, and along the guide tool assemblies or an upper and a lower die holders are drawn out of the gondola horizontally and placed in desired positions for replacement.

The present invention relates to novel derivatives of DC-52 represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## [wherein X is chlorine, bromine, iodine, hydroxyl, formyl, hydroxyiminomethyl, cyano, nitro, amino or lower alkanoylamino; and Y is hydroxyl and Z is cyano, or Y and Z represent --O-- in the form of --Y--Z--]. A shearing machine is so arranged that the ram, when vertically moved, is resiliently guided by spring guides and is driven in such a manner as to be kept urged into contact with the guides. The shearing machine is provided with hold-down clamps which can firmly hold the work-sheet being sheared without damaging the work-sheet. A hydraulic pump for the the hold-down clamps is provided with a large diameter piston which will supply a large amount of flow under low pressure and damp the surge and a small diameter piston which will supply a small amount of flow under high pressure. The shearing machine is also provided with hold-up supports which will hold up the work-sheet being sheared to prevent the work-sheet from bending and curling.
