A bulb socket for receiving a base of a bulb, comprises: a bulb mounting hole into which the base of the bulb is mounted; a recessed portion formed in an inner peripheral surface of the bulb mounting hole; and an electrical connection terminal stored-in the recessed portion, the electrical connection terminal having a contact piece formed by cutting and raising a portion of the electrical connection terminal to project out from the recessed portion and contact with an outer peripheral surface of the bulb base, wherein the contact piece is bent at least two times toward the bulb mounting hole.

Bulb socket

The bulb sockets including a socket main body (10) formed of synthetic resin and having a bulb insertion opening (12) which is opened forwardly and into which a wedge base bulb (50) can be inserted. On the outside surface of the socket main body (10), there are provided securing projections (20) which can be respectively engaged with a socket mounting hole (62) formed in a socket mounting member (60) to thereby restrain the socket main body (10) against removal, and a flange (30) cooperarable with the securing projections (20) in holding the peripheral edge portion of the socket mounting hole (62) between them. Within the bulb insertion opening (12), elastic hooks (13) for holding the outside surface of a flat base (52) of a bulb (50) inserted into the bulb insertion opening (12) to thereby prevent the flat base (52) against removal are arranged in parallel along the forming walls (11a) of the bulb insertion opening (12). Inside the bulb insertion opening forming walls (11a), there are provided vertical ribs (18) between the parallel disposed elastic hooks (13) and (13), thereby preventing the base (52) of the bulb (50) from being pushed into between the mutually adjoining elastic hooks (13) and (13) and the adjacent side wall.

A bulb socket for retaining a bulb. The bulb socket includes a bulb socket main body (10) formed of synthetic resin and including a bulb insertion opening (12) formed in the bulb socket main body (10). Within the bulb insertion opening (12), there is stored a contact terminal (40A) which is formed of metal and includes a tongue-shaped bulb securing piece (42) for holding a bulb (50) inserted into the bulb insertion opening (12) in a removal preventive manner, and a tongue-shaped contact hold piece (44) contactable with an electricity energizing part disposed on the bulb side, where the bulb securing piece (42) and contact hold piece (44) are formed integrally with each other. The bulb securing piece (42) is disposed spaced apart from walls (11a) forming the bulb insertion opening (12) and, on the back of the bulb securing piece (42), there is provided a cantilever beam shaped elastic wall (16) which extends along the bulb securing piece (42) so as to support the bulb securing piece (42). As a result, the resistance by the bulb securing piece (42) when the bulb (50) is inserted is relatively small, whereas the resistance by the bulb securing piece (42) when the bulb (50) is relatively large.

A bulb socket engageable in a socket mounting hole of a bulb mounting member. The bulb socket includes a socket main body (10) which is formed of resin and includes a bulb insertion opening (12), a plurality of securing projections (20) extending from the socket main body, which are engageable with a socket mounting hole (62), and a plurality of elastic hold portions which cooperate with the securing projections (20) to hold the peripheral edge portion of the socket mounting hole (60). The elastic hold portions are disposed, respectively, at the substantially quadrisected positions of a horizontal flange portion (30) spaced a given distance from the securing projections (20) in such a manner that they are separated apart from the horizontal flange portion (30) through right and left slits (32) and extend outwardly in the radial direction of the horizontal flange portion (30). The leading end portions of the extending portions of the elastic hold portions have belt-shaped elastic hold pieces (34) which project forwardly of the horizontal flange portion (30). Due to this structure, the flexibility of the belt-shaped elastic hold pieces (34) can be enhanced, and the mounting and removal of the socket main body (10) can be facilitated. At the same time, a force to push the socket main body (10) into the socket mounting hole (62) can be received by the horizontal flange portion (30) having excellent rigidity, thereby being able to prevent the belt-shaped elastic hold pieces (34) from breaking.

A bulb socket which includes a tubular socket body for receiving a base of a bulb, a positive terminal insertion portion which is formed at the socket body and opens in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the socket body, a positive terminal inserted into the socket body through the positive terminal insertion portion and held at an inner bottom portion of the socket body, and a negative terminal supported on an inner peripheral surface of the socket body. The positive terminal insertion portion extends diametrically of the socket portion and has a length larger than the diameter of the socket portion. The positive terminal has a length larger than the diameter of the socket body, and is supported in the positive terminal insertion portion.

Bulb socket for vehicular lamp

A wedge-base bulb socket which fixedly holds a wedge-base bulb and prevents it from rattling when the bulb is fitted to the wedge-base bulb socket, as well as prevents terminals provided in the socket from rattling. A bulb insertion hole is formed in a bulb socket portion so as to open at one end, and the hole is surrounded by a wall. Terminal strip holding portions are formed along an interior surface of the wall. Socket terminals are formed so as to be integral with terminal strips for establishing electrical connection with a base of a wedge-base bulb as well as fixedly holding the same. Power feeding terminal sections are formed so as to be integral with the terminal strips for electrical connections to the outside. The socket terminals of the terminal stripes are disposed in the bulb insertion hole of the bulb socket portion, and the power feeding terminal sections are disposed in a power feeding connector, whereby part of the socket terminals are sandwiched between the terminal strip holding portions of the bulb socket and the wall.

Wedge-base bulb socket

A bulb socket in which a positive terminal and an earth terminal are embedded in a socket body during the injection molding which body having a bulb insertion hole and a connector connection hole. The bulb socket is provided with a mold insertion space portion formed between a peripheral wall of the socket body constituting the bulb insertion hole and a bulb contact hole of the earth terminal.

Automobile light bulb socket

A connector socket for a wedge-base lamp is improved by socket structures which aid in leading the base end of the bulb into alignment with the insertion channel and at the same time prevent contact between the base end and the top ends of the socket terminals in a way which might lead to wrenching or deformation of the terminals.
