In a vane pump having a casing, an annular rotor rotatably disposed in the casing, a plurality of vanes longitudinally movably carried by the rotor, and a cam ring eccentrically disposed about the rotor with its cylindrical inner surface slidably contacting with the leading ends of the vanes, the cam ring having at the diametrically opposed portions thereof inlet and outlet ports which face in the same direction, there is proposed a measure in which a groove is formed in the cam ring near the inlet port and faces in the same direction as the inlet and outlet ports, and in which the groove is connected to the outlet port for balancing the cam ring.

A vane pump has a housing comprising a pump cover and a pump housing. The pump cover is integrally formed with a hollow fixed shaft projecting therefrom and inserted loosely into a longitudinal hole of the pump housing. Received in the housing are a cam ring, a rotor eccentrically disposed for rotation within the cam ring, a plurality of vanes radially slidably provided through the rotor, a pair of annular vane rings disposed coaxially with the cam ring and an annular centering member mounted to the base portion of the fixed shaft adjacent the pump cover such that the centering member is arranged in a radially shifted position from the annular vane rings.

A head lamp washing system is disclosed which comprises a solenoid valve having an inlet and first and second outlets, the solenoid valve operable in its first position where the inlet is connected only to the first outlet when energized and in its second position where the inlet is connected only to the second outlet when deenergized, first and second injectors each having at least one injection nozzle, the injection nozzle of the first injector connected to the first inlet, the injection nozzle of the second injector connected to the second inlet, a detergent cistern containing a liquid detergent, the cistern connected to the inlet of the solenoid valve, a pressurizer for pressurizing the liquid detergent supplied to the solenoid valve, and a control circuit for alternatively allowing and cutting off power to the solenoid valve on a periodic basis.
