There is provided a fuel cell vehicle that allows minimally suppressing damage of a fuel cell stack and a high voltage component as important components when the vehicle collides from a front side. An ion exchanger as a first component includes a tubular portion and a cap portion. When the front side of the fuel cell vehicle collides, the tubular portion deforms due to an impact load from a radiator as a second component moving toward the ion exchanger to buffer an impact from the radiator. The cap portion restricts additional deformation of a damper portion when the impact load from the radiator becomes a predetermined magnitude or more. A stack frame and a chassis are joined and fixed via mounts such that the stack frame is detached from the chassis due to the impact load from the radiator when the deformation of the tubular portion is restricted by the cap portion.

There is provided a fuel cell vehicle, including a high voltage system disposed in a front compartment of the vehicle, and a first protruding portion that protrudes in a left-right direction of the vehicle toward a vehicle body of the vehicle further than a portion of the high voltage system that is closest to the vehicle body, and is fixed to the high voltage system, in which, when the vehicle is placed on a horizontal plane, the first protruding portion is arranged such that a position of a first most-protruded portion of the first protruding portion that protrudes most toward the vehicle body in a height direction is located at the same position or higher than a center of gravity of the high voltage system.

In a motor lock determination device (), a lock determination on an electric motor () is performed such that: a first detection value (PI), which is a detection value (P) of a refrigerant pressure sensor () during a stop of an electric fan (), is detected, and a second detection value (P), which is a detection value (P) of the refrigerant pressure sensor () after the electric fan () is driven for a first predetermined time (&#x394;), is detected; when the second detection value (P) is equal to the first detection value (PI) or more than the first detection value (PI), it is determined that a motor lock occurs; and when the second detection value (P) is less than the first detection value (PI), it is determined that no motor lock occurs.

Disclosed is a member that contains electronic components. Using the member, when, for example, a vehicle or the like carrying electronic components such as an inverter collides with an external object, there is prevented damage to a housing containing the electronic components, which would otherwise occur due to interfering objects. Furthermore, the disclosed member can dissipate heat produced by the contained electronic components. The member includes a housing for containing electronic components, a cooling passage that is provided inside the housing and uses a refrigerant to cool the electronic components, and a heat dissipation part that dissipates heat from the cooling passage and prevents the housing from being damaged by impacts from external interfering objects.

A reserve tank includes a tank body for storing coolant, an inflow portion for allowing the coolant to flow into the tank body, a guide portion, and an outflow portion for allowing the coolant to flow out of the tank body. The guide portion is disposed above the inflow portion and below a liquid level of the coolant in the tank body. Furthermore, the guide portion is adapted to guide a flow of the coolant flowing thereinto from the inflow portion and directed upward, substantially in a horizontal direction or downward with respect to the horizontal direction. Therefore, the reserve tank can restrict air from being trapped in coolant.

The piping with a coolant inlet is provided with a partition wall within a body part. In the body part, a flow path having a U-turn region changing the flow direction of a coolant by about 180&#xb0; degrees is defined. Much of the air contained in the coolant returning from a communicating hole to the body part floats up in a region leading to the U-turn region and is released from an inlet to the outside. By using this configuration, it is possible to provide a piping with a coolant inlet having a structure capable of efficiently releasing the air generated in a coolant circulation path.

A control device for cylinder reducing operation of a multi-cylinder engine for a vehicle controls the number of working cylinders in the engine more appropriately for fuel economy while ensuring the operational stability of the engine and comfortable drivability of the vehicle. The control device comprises a detector detecting engine output torque and judges if cylinder reducing operation is to be executed while referring to the engine output torque. Because of the detection of engine output torque, cylinder reducing operation will be executed as long as torque requested of the engine is available from the reduced number of working cylinders, thereby ensuring the generation of torque required in operating the engine while saving fuel as much as possible. Through a learning process, criteria for the judgment of execution of cylinder reducing operation are modified to be adapted for any variation of engine output performances.

An idle intake control device provided with a backflow preventing means for preventing a backflow near an idle intake regulating valve and producing only a forward flow in order to prevent idle intake air containing combustion products from flowing back and being adhered to an idle intake regulating valve in an idle intake passageway for bypassing an intake regulating valve provided in an intake passageway of the engine.
