The invention relates to a reaction apparatus that efficiently heats a reaction portion, and a fuel cell system and an electronic device that include such a reaction apparatus. A reaction apparatus () includes a reformer () in which formed are a reforming reaction chamber () and a reformer combustion chamber () that generates heat to be supplied to the reforming reaction chamber (), which () are adjacent to each other with a partition interposed therebetween; a CO remover () in which formed are a removing reaction chamber () where a chemical reaction is performed at a temperature lower than that in the reforming reaction chamber () and a remover combustion chamber () that generates heat to be supplied to the removing reaction chamber (), which () are adjacent to each other with a partition interposed therebetween; and a connecting portion () that connects the reformer () and the remover (). At least one of the reformer () and the CO remover () is configured by combining ceramic parts () and metal components (), and the ceramic parts () and the metal components () are connected with second members () interposed therebetween.

The invention relates to a reaction apparatus having an enhanced connection, and a fuel cell system and an electronic device that include such a reaction apparatus. A coupling pipe is interposed between the high-temperature reaction unit and the low-temperature reaction unit and transfers the first reaction material and the product created with the reaction material between the high-temperature reaction unit and the low-temperature reaction unit. An external flow pipe is joined to the low-temperature reaction unit at its having one end. The external flow pipe has a plurality of flow pathways including a flow pathway for supplying the first reaction material to the high-temperature reaction unit through the low-temperature reaction unit and a flow pathway for discharging the product from the high-temperature reaction unit through the low-temperature reaction unit.

Reformer for power supply of a portable electronic device

A reaction apparatus includes: a chemical reaction unit for causing a reaction of a reactant by being set to a predetermined temperature and by being supplied with the reactant, a heat insulation package for housing the chemical reaction unit therein, an abnormality detector for detecting at least one of a temperature abnormality of the chemical reaction unit and the heat insulation package, and a cooling unit for flowing a cooling fluid to the chemical reaction unit to stop the reaction according to a detection result by the abnormality detector. Disclosed is a reactor including: a first reaction part and a second reaction part each comprising a reaction channel where a reactant flows, in which the reactant is applied to cause a reaction of the reactant, and which are arranged to form a gap therebetween; a heat insulating container covering at least entirety of the first reaction part, the second reaction part and the gap, in which a pressure within an inner space of the heat insulating container including the gap is lower than atmospheric pressure; and at least one getter material disposed in a space including the gap in the inner space. The getter material improves degree of vacuum in the inner space of the heat insulating container, and is disposed at the gap between the first reaction part and the second reaction part so as not to increase the size of the reactor.

Reactor

A reactor supplied with a reactant to cause reaction of the reactant includes a reaction device which has a hollow box type member having a top plate and a bottom plate opposed to each other and side plates connected to an edge of the top plate and an edge of the bottom plate. A partition member is housed in the box type member, the partition member coming into contact with at least internal faces of the side plates of the box type member and partitioning a space in the box type member into a plurality of reaction chambers to which the reactant is to be supplied. A penetrating region is provided in the partition member to connect the adjacent reaction chambers to each other, the penetrating region having the reactant passed therethrough.

A chemical reaction apparatus includes a solid body which has an outer surface, and in which at least one flow path which allows a chemical medium to flow is formed. This body has a heating element which heats the chemical medium in the flow path to accelerate a chemical reaction of the chemical medium, and a heat radiation preventing film which covers at least a portion of the outer surface of the body, and prevents radiation of heat generated by the heating element from a portion of the outer surface.
