A laser radar device includes: a projection part repeatedly performing processing of projecting measurement light that is of a pulsed laser beam to a predetermined monitoring area in a measurement period having a predetermined first length, the processing being repeated in c cycles (c&#x2267;2) in a detection period having a predetermined second length; a light receiver including n1 (n1&#x2267;2) light receiving elements and receiving reflected light of the measurement light in directions different from one another; a selector selecting light receiving signals of the n1 light receiving elements in each measurement period and output n2 (n2&#x2267;2) light receiving signals; a sampling part sampling the light receiving signals output from the selector s (s&#x2267;2) times every time the measurement light is projected; and a detector performing processing of detecting an object in a detection-period-based period based on sampling values.

A vehicle power-supply control device has a battery charger that converts an externally-supplied AC voltage into a DC voltage used to charge a vehicle high-voltage battery, a low-voltage power generator that converts the DC voltage output from the battery charger into a DC voltage used to drive a vehicle auxiliary machine, and a controller that controls the battery charger and the low-voltage power generator. The battery charger includes a power factor correction circuit that corrects a power factor of the AC voltage and a first DC/DC converter that generates a predetermined DC voltage based on an output of the power factor correction circuit. The low-voltage power generator includes a second DC/DC converter that steps down the DC voltage output from the battery charger and a synchronous rectifier that rectifies an output of the second DC/DC converter in synchronization with a switching operation of the second DC/DC converter.

A control system has a control device for performing a control of a predetermined process, and a communication device for communicating with the control device. The control device has a first transmission unit for transmitting a request signal requesting for transmission of a response signal to the communication device, a first reception unit for receiving the response signal transmitted through a predetermined procedure from the communication device in response to the request signal transmitted by the first transmission unit, an authentication unit for performing authentication of the communication device using identification information of the communication device contained in the response signal received by the first reception unit and identification information of the communication device registered in advance, and a process executing unit for executing the predetermined process when the authentication of the communication device by the authentication unit is successful. The communication device has a first storage unit for storing transmission scheduled time information indicating a time scheduled to transmit the response signal assigned to the communication device, a second reception unit for receiving the request signal transmitted from the first transmission unit, and a second transmission unit for transmitting the response signal corresponding to the request signal received by the second reception unit to the control device at a time different from times assigned to other communication devices based on the transmission scheduled time information stored in the first storage unit.

A detection device for detecting a body entering a predetermined range has a transmission means for periodically radiating a pulse-like transmission signal by way of an electromagnetic wave to which a band restriction has been applied, a first reception means and a second reception means, and a judgment means. Each of the reception means performs receiving, as a reception signal, the electromagnetic wave reflected by the body, periodic sampling of the reception signal after a predetermined delay time has elapsed from transmission, and judging, based on a result of the periodic sampling, whether the body exists. The judgment means judges, based on judgment results of each of the first reception means and the second reception means, whether the body has entered into the predetermined range, and outputs a judgment result.

Detection device and detection method

A sensor for detecting a specific object (such as a hand) excellent in operation reliability and response, further excellent in mountability (dominance such as in size and design) on a vehicle, and much less in power consumption than conventional impulse radars. The object sensor comprises detecting wave transmitting means and reflected wave receiving means of an impulse radar and a judging circuit part () for turning on the detection output when the amplitude level of a signal component, in a frequency range corresponding to the moving speed range of a specific object, of a signal received by the reflected wave receiving means lies in a predetermined range corresponding to the reflection characteristics of the specific object.

Object sensor and controller

A lock controller has main apparatus provided to a lockable door and a detector for detecting an approaching or retreating target object. The detector includes an oscillator device for generating a transmission wave, a branching device for branching the transmission wave, a transmission device for transmitting the transmission wave into space as electromagnetic waves, a reception device for receiving the transmission wave reflected by the target object, a mixer for mixing a reception signal received by the reception device and a branched signal branched by the branching device to output a mixed signal, and a judging device for switching on a detection output indicating the target object approaching and retreating based on an increase and a decrease of the mixed signal outputted from the mixer. A detection distance is set within &#xbc; wavelength of frequency effective for the detection. The main apparatus sends by wireless transmission a specified request signal to a portable device carried by the user, and if an answer signal is received from the portable device in response, causes the lockable part to be unlocked after ascertaining that the received answer signal is a correct signal.

Detector and lock controller using same

A lock controller for automatically unlocking and locking a lockable part such as a vehicle door uses a detector for detecting a hand approaching inside a plurality of detection areas. Such a detector is not only arranged to transmit electromagnetic waves and to receive the reflected waves from a target object of detection such as a person's hand but also provided with a plurality of wave detection circuit parts for mixing wave detection signals corresponding to said transmission waves with signals received by said reception antenna at different sampling timings and outputting the mixed signals. A plurality of judging circuit parts each correspond to different one of the wave detection circuit parts and serve to switch on a detection output based on the outputted signals from said wave detection circuit parts to indicate that said target object is approaching and at a speed within a specified range. The detection areas have different sizes for each of the judging circuit parts corresponding to the different sampling timings of the wave detection circuit parts.

A plurality of primary detection regions A to I are scanned by switching a beam width and a beam direction of an antenna. The primary detection regions A to I are formed such that one detection region overlaps at least one of other detection regions. A small region (any one of secondary detection region () to ()) corresponding to a region provided by excluding a region corresponding to a sum of set of the detection regions where a detection object was not detected, from a region corresponding to a product set of the primary detection regions where the object was detected is specified as a bearing in which the object exists, based on detection results of the respective primary detection regions.

Object detector and object detecting method

Beams are irradiated in three directions by switching an irradiation direction of a mainlobe of an antenna by stages, and an echo is received from a detection object obtained in the mainlobe or a sidelobe in each irradiation direction. Then, reflection power intensity in each irradiation direction is found from the received echo, and pattern of relative variation of the reflection power intensity (power intensity pattern) in each irradiation direction is generated. Meanwhile, a detection region is divided into seven bearings 'c' to 'i' and a power intensity pattern when an object exists in each bearing is previously stored as a reference pattern in each bearing. Then, the bearing in which the detection object exists is specified by comparing the power intensity pattern obtained from the received echo with the reference pattern in each bearing.
