Disclosed is a table driving apparatus adapted for use with an automatic mounting apparatus or assembling robot comprising a working table movable in at least one direction, and a direct-drive motor having a rotary arm. A mechanism is provided for mechanically coupling the working table and the rotary arm in such a manner that turning movement of the arm can be converted into linearly sliding movement of the working table along the one direction. The direct-drive motor is coupled with the working table with such a small compliance that the resonance frequency of a statem including the direct-drive motor and a load coupled therewith lies out of a frequency range within which the direct-drive motor is operable. This arrangement assures a rigid coupling between the firect-drive motor and the working table with a small compliance, so that the resonance frequency becomes muxh higher than otherwise coupled, thus enabling a stable and precise driving of the working table.

An automatic adjustment system for a camera which time division multiplexes inputs from a scanning system, and an automatic exposure control or a film feeding motor speed control into an evaluation circuit. The same electronic circuitry is thereby used for evaluating the input from any of the mentioned adjusting systems to minimize the complexity and bulk of the camera circuitry necessary for processing. Each aforementioned automatic feature compares a respective pair of signals to determine the respective adjustment. A pair of signals is brought to a common condition indicative of proper adjustment by use of feedback from the actual state of the automatic system for the particular feature.

An improved automatic focusing system for an optical instrument includes a scanner driven oscillatably across an angle to detect a subject positioned between infinity and the minimum focus condition of the objective lens of the optical instrument. The scanner is adjusted in response to the focus condition of the lens to align the bisector of the angle scanned with the subject when the lens is in perfect focus by electronic and mechanical interconnecting feedback means between the objective lens focusing ring and the scanning system.

Automatic focus adjusting device

A technique is shown for automatically adjusting the sensitivity of an auto focus device in accordance with the level of light intensity of the subject. Sensitivity correction is required because the timing of the automatic focus signal is directly related to the intensity of the light from the subject. In systems where the timing of the automatic focus signal is used to determine the distance of the subject from the camera signal, correction is absolutely essential. A supplementary photo cell is used to measure the light coming from the subject and set the sensitivity of the automatic focus system.

Disclosed is an improvement in an automatic focusing system for use with an optical instrument having a focusable objective which is adjustable in response to optical and electronic components of the system for determining object distance of a remote subject by comparing images of scanning and reference optical systems. The scanner of the optical system is driven oscillatably across an angle to detect a subject between infinity and the minimum focus condition of the objective lens. The scanner is adjustable in response to the focus condition of the lens for alignment of the angle scanned with the subject when the lens is in perfect focus by means of an electronic and mechanical interconnecting feedback between the lens focusing ring and the aiming device for the scanning system. The present invention relates to improvements in an automatic focusing system's for use with an optical instrument having a focusable objective. More particularly, the improvement relates to controlling the focusing system sensitivity in accordance with the various camera conditions which define depth of field e.g. object luminance, film sensitivity, shutter speed, focal length and the like.
