The water-soluble resin for printing of the present invention includes a monomer unit A having a sulfonate group; and a monomer unit B having no hydrophilic group, and a percentage of the monomer unit A based on a total of all monomer units is 5 to 35 mol %. According to the water-soluble resin for printing of the present invention, a printed matter from which a printing layer can be safely and efficiently removed with neutral water and which is excellent in water resistance can be realized.

Method for manufacturing thermoplastic resin composition

The present invention is a composition of an agent for treating a precursor of a three-dimensional object for removing a support material from a precursor of the three-dimensional object containing a three-dimensional object and the support material, the composition containing water and a water-soluble compound having a solubility parameter (SP value) calculated by using the Fedors' method of 8 (cal/cm)to 13 (cal/cm). The present invention can provide a composition of an agent for treating a precursor of a three-dimensional object that is capable of removing the support material quickly and a method for manufacturing a three-dimensional object using the composition of an agent for treating a precursor of a three-dimensional object by a fused deposition modeling system.

The present invention is a soluble material for three-dimensional modeling that is used as a material of a support material for supporting a three-dimensional object when the three-dimensional object is manufactured by a 3D printer of a fused deposition modeling system and that contains a thermoplastic resin having a hydrophilic group and an organic salt compound represented by a general formula (I) below: (R&#x2014;SO)X(I). According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a soluble material for three-dimensional modeling that is used for a support material and that is capable of suppressing the degradation of the modeling accuracy of a three-dimensional object when the three-dimensional object is manufactured by a 3D printer of a fused deposition modeling system, and has a high rate of dissolution to neutral water to be removable speedily from a precursor of the three-dimensional object without use of a strong alkaline aqueous solution.

Soluble material for three-dimensional molding

The soluble material for three-dimensional modeling of the present invention is a soluble material for three-dimensional modeling that is used as a material of a support material that supports a three-dimensional object when manufacturing the three-dimensional object with a fused deposition modeling type 3D printer. The soluble material for three-dimensional modeling contains at least one polymer and at least one filler. In the soluble material for three-dimensional modeling, the filler is a fibrous filler having a fiber length of 0.02 &#x3bc;m to 1,000 &#x3bc;m and a fiber diameter of 0.0001 &#x3bc;m to 20 &#x3bc;m and/or a flat filler having a particle size of 0.1 &#x3bc;m to 20 &#x3bc;m and a thickness of 0.01 &#x3bc;m to 10 &#x3bc;m. The content of the filler is 0.01 part by mass to 200 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the polymer. According to the present invention, foaming and a decrease of the accuracy of a three-dimensional object can be suppressed even when the soluble material for three-dimensional modeling is used in manufacture of the three-dimensional object with a 3D printer after being exposed to high humidity.

The soluble material for three-dimensional modeling that is used as a material of a support material that supports a three-dimensional object when manufacturing the three-dimensional object with a fused deposition modeling type 3D printer. The soluble material for three-dimensional modeling includes at least one copolymer comprising a specific hydrophilic monomer unit and a specific hydrophobic monomer unit. The present invention has a glass transition temperature suitable for the FDM system, has a high dissolution rate in an alkaline aqueous solution, can be quickly removed from a precursor of a three-dimensional object, and makes it possible to suppress or reduce damage to a three-dimensional object.

A soluble material for three-dimensional modeling, which is used as a raw material of a support material for supporting a three-dimensional object when the three-dimensional object is produced, using a 3D printer of a FDM system, includes a polyester resin including one or more aromatic dicarboxylic acid monomer units A with a sulfonate group, one or more dicarboxylic acid monomer units B without a sulfonate group, and one or more diol monomer units. The proportion of the aromatic dicarboxylic acid monomer unit(s) A in the total of all dicarboxylic acid monomer units is from 10 to 70 mol %. The soluble material has hygroscopicity resistance while the material is large in dissolution rate into any neutral water and removable speedily from a precursor of the three-dimensional object without using any aqueous strong alkaline solution.

Three-dimensional-modeling soluble material

C. of the aqueous solution prepared by incorporating the copolymer in deionized water at a concentration of 0.5 wt. % is in the range of 0.3-20 Pa.multidot.sec. at a shear rate of 1 sec.sup.-1 and in the range of 0.01-5 Pa.multidot.sec. at a shear rate of 10 sec.sup.-1 and the viscosity at a shear rate of 1 sec.sup.-1 is higher than the viscosity at a shear rate of 10 sec.sup.-1. This cationic group-containing copolymer is obtained by particularly using a cationic group-containing vinyl monomer, a hydrophilic nonionic group-containing vinyl monomer such as N,N-dimethyl (meth)acrylamide or N,N-diethyl (meth)acrylamide, and a cross-linking vinyl monomer containing at least two vinyl groups in the molecular unit thereof as essential component monomers and radically polymerizing the essential component monomers. A thickener made of the copolymer is also disclosed.
