An imaging device includes a light separator configured to separate light into a plurality of light bands. The imaging device further includes a plurality of imaging elements. Each of the plurality of imaging elements is configured to receive one of the plurality of light bands and to generate a corresponding signal. Each of the plurality of imaging elements has a pixel size for generating a 4K resolution image signal including at least 3840 horizontal pixels and at least 2160 vertical pixels on a display. A registration error among the plurality of imaging elements is equal to or less than a threshold of 20% of a pixel size in the plurality of image elements.

Imaging device, manufacturing method thereof, and medical imaging system

An imaging device includes a light separator that separates light into light bands, and imaging elements that each receives one of the light bands and generates a corresponding signal. Each of the imaging elements has a pixel size of at most 2.5 &#x3bc;m by 2.5 &#x3bc;m. A registration error among the imaging elements is equal to or less than a threshold determined according to the pixel size.

An imaging apparatus includes an imaging unit that has image sensors for each image of red, green, and blue which have a two-line addition function respectively. The imaging unit outputs image signals of red and blue and an image signal of green of which sample phases in a space are shifted by one pixel interval in a vertical direction using the two-line addition function. A resolution conversion unit obtains image signals of red, green, and blue of which the number of lines is doubled by performing interpolation processing on the image signals of red and blue and an image signal of green output from the imaging unit.

A picture pickup block ( ) of an optical head body ( ) is detachably attached to a camera body ( ). The picture pickup block ( ) includes an EEPROM ( ), which stores data in association with a picture pickup element, such as shading correction data, and setup data for the video camera, including signal-use location data. When the power is turned on, a microcomputer ( ) in the camera body ( ) reads setup data from the ROM ( ), and sets up the video camera by controlling each circuit of the picture pickup block ( ) and the camera body ( ). For example, based on shading correction data, setup is performed so that a video signal for which shading correction has been performed is output. Also, based on signal-use location data, setup is performed so that a video signal in accordance with the appropriate signal standards of a particular signal-use location is output by controlling a level conversion circuit ( ) and a setup level signal adding circuit ( ).

Video camera and video camera setup method

A camera apparatus which can perform detail enhancement on a selected set of color signals. Fundamental color signals are respectively detected by a plurality of imaging devices and output in response to vertical transfer signals. For color signals on which detail enhancement is not to be performed, the vertical transfer pulse is sent to the corresponding imaging device at a reference timing. For the selected color signals on which detail enhancement is to be performed, the vertical transfer pulse is sent to the corresponding imaging device at a timing which is ahead of the reference timing. In one embodiment, vertical transfer pulses of the reference timing are generated, and additional pulses which are ahead of the reference timing are also generated. In another embodiment, vertical transfer pulses are continuously generated, but some pulses are selectively suppressed or subtracted to produce pulses of two different timings.

Camera apparatus with detail enhancement processing

A digital detecting or charge-discharge control circuit is useful in a video camera as a peak detector in an automatic iris control circuit, as a reference voltage generator in an automatic white balance control circuit and/or as a low pass filter in an automatic black balance control circuit. The digital detecting circuit includes multipliers for multiplying by first and second coefficients which determine charging and discharging times, respectively, and the value of such first and second coefficients are controlled or varied in accordance with the selected operating mode of the camera so that broad ranges of iris, white balance and/or black balance control can be achieved.
