An apparatus for image diagnosis including an arm rest device having support surfaces for supporting a patient's upheld arms without the use of grasping handles during image diagnosis while the patient is placed in a supine position. The apparatus includes a table on which the patient can be placed, a table support for supporting the table, a detector device for detecting radiation emitted from a radiation source passing through the patient in order to reconstruct cross sectional images of the patient, a gantry for carrying the detector to an investigating position, and the arm rest device. The arm rest device includes a U-shaped base member which has a fixing guide for mounting the arm rest device on the table support and a pair of arm rest pad members which are adjustably placed in the U-shaped base member at appropriate positions for supporting the patient's upheld arms. The arm rest pad members have triangular cross sections defining different interior angles and can be selectably arranged to provide support surfaces at different angles of inclination.

Nuclear image diagnosis apparatus having patient arm and head support

A method for manufacturing single focus and cone beam collimators with precisely focused focal line or focal point. The method includes the steps of: forming a collimator body by using a metal casting process; measuring a displacement of a focal position of the collimator body with respect to an intended focal position; determining an adjustment size to minimize the measured displacement; adjusting the focal position of the collimator body by changing a physical size of peripheral regions of the collimator body according to the determined adjustment size. In this method, the physical size of peripheral regions of the collimator body can be changed either by cutting or attaching peripheral adjustment portions. Also, the physical size of peripheral regions of the collimator body can be changed to tilt an optical axis of the collimator body. The method should preferably be applied to segments of the collimator body separately.

Method for manufacturing precisely focused collimator

A scintillation camera includes a plurality of detectors mounted on the camera and arranged to provide an opening for allowing the insertion of an object for examination such as a human being and for radiographing a tomographic image, a plurality of collimators each of which is attached to the front of the corresponding detectors for collimating X-rays radiating from the object for examination, and an exchanger for the collimators, the exchanger including a carrier and a holding device for holding the collimators in a swingable manner in any direction within a certain range by use of a mechanism such as a spherical bearing.

Scintillation camera

A method for manufacturing a single focus collimator in a high precision without increasing a cost for manufacturing. In this method, grooves are on a bulk block member first, and a metallic material having sufficient .gamma. ray shielding property such as lead is casted into the grooves formed on the bulk block member, and then the bulk block member with the metallic material casted into the grooves is immersed into a solvent capable of dissolving the bulk block member but not the metallic material, such that a collimator body formed by the metallic material in a shape of the grooves is obtained as the bulk block member is dissolved by the solvent. The sensitivity of the single focus collimator can be made substantially uniform over the entire effective view field by forming the grooves with such intervals that holes formed on the collimator body have larger size toward a center of the collimator body.

High precision single focus collimator and method for manufacturing high

A scintillation camera comprises a gantry having a plurality of detectors, and a plurality of sections which are assigned to the respective detectors, and to which a plurality of collimators are intended to be attached. A carrier simultaneously supports the collimators to attach them to their attaching-sections respectively, while the carrier simultaneously supports the collimators which have been attached to their attaching-sections, to detach them therefrom. The attaching or detaching of plural collimators can be simultaneously done by only one carrier. Therefore, the time needed to change the collimators can be decreased and the operation of changing them can be made extremely easier. As the result, the efficiency of changing them can be greatly enhanced.
