A large multicolor display apparatus displays pictures and animations of high quality with multiple colors. The apparatus is used for advertisement and information purposes. The apparatus comprises unit blocks, which are divided into a plurality of sections. In each of the sections, there is arranged a multicolor display element having a rotary color display member. The color of each unit block is determined by the multicolor display elements disposed in the unit block. Each of the unit blocks, therefore, can display multiple colors, to improve the quality of images displayed on the apparatus. Since the multicolor display elements can be prepared in small sizes, they operate at high speed to display animations and make the apparatus thinner and lighter.

Multicolor display apparatus

A ball throwing machine for hitting out tennis balls or the like at predetermined time intervals, in which a lock cover is rotatable or slidable into engagement with a switch which is capable of making and breaking an electric current to a drive motor. Said lock cover is mounted in a position adjacent to a rotating trace of a hitting lever. In the event an object other than ball, for example, a hand, a finger or a rod, should be drawn into the interior of the machine together with the hitting lever while this lever is rotated by a motor to expand a biasing spring, the lock cover will rotate or slide to break the electric current to the motor and stop the motor immediately, thereby preventing the occurrence of injury.

A liquid crystal display device is disclosed which possesses many of the advantages of a dot matrix type of display, with respect to flexibility of changing character or symbol position and size, together with the advantages of a limited number of external connecting leads provided by a segment type of display which can indicate only numerals or symbols of predetermined size at predetermined locations. The display device is based upon a matrix of groups of display segments, with each group or the segments within a group being individually selectable to form numerals and characters using either individual display segments or combinations of groups of display segments.

Liquid crystal matrix display device

A data input device for inputting data in the form of patterns to an electronic device such as an electronic timepiece is disclosed. Data input is performed by tracing out patterns, each representing a character, numeral or symbol, such as to successively actuate a plurality of sensor elements, which can comprise touch-sensitive electrodes arrayed over a display device, and pattern recognition is performed by interpreting pairs of successive sensor element actuations as lines of an input pattern, rather than separately interpreting individual sensor element actuations as point inputs.

Data input device for electronic device

An electronic calculator watch which comprises timekeeping means composed of an oscillator, a frequency divider connected to the oscillator, a counter circuit connected to the frequency divider, and a driver circuit connected to the counter circuit for providing an output signal indicative of time information, and calculating means composed of an oscillator circuit and a calculation circuit responsive to perform calculations under control of numerical inputs furnished by external operation device provided on a watch case. The watch also comprises a display including a first display section connected to the driver circuit of the timekeeping means to display the output signal delivered therefrom, and a second display section connected to the calculating means to display the result of calculations, each of the first and second display sections having a plurality of digit electrodes and a plurality of segment electrodes arranged in a matrix configuration.

A booster circuit for an electronic timepiece having a power supply and a display device adapted to be driven in a matrix driving mode, which comprises a Cockcroft circuit connected to one terminal of the power supply to provide a plurality of boosted output voltages to the display device and voltage compensating means connected to the other terminal of the power supply to compensate for voltage drops caused by said Cockcroft circuit.

Booster circuit for electronic timepiece

An electronic alarm watch having an external operation device, which comprises a timekeeping section and an electronic calculator. The timekeeping section is composed of a quartz crystal oscillator connected to a first battery and providing a relatively high frequency signal to provide a low frequency signal, a counter circuit responsive to the low frequency signal to provide time information signals, a driver circuit providing driving signals in response to the time information signals, a time display section in response to the driving signals, an alarm time detection circuit connected to the counter circuit to detect an alarm time set by the external operation device, and an acoustic device responsive to an output from the alarm time detection circuit to generate a sound indicative of the alarm time. The electronic calculator is composed of a calculating section connected to the external operation device to perform calculation in response to input signals delivered from the external operation device, a calculator display section, and a booster circuit connected to second batteries to supply boosted output voltage to the calculating section and the calculator display section.
